View Full Version : Asking eBay to step in on IND

I have an item that the seller has agreed to accept a return on but has not supplied the label. The item was not as described, so my understanding is that they are on the hook for return shipping in this situation.

They haven't supplied one or really contacted me since accepting the return. If I ask eBay to step in (today was the deadline) what will likely happen?

When they accepted the return the label should have been generated for you. I would not ask Ebay to step in , I would call them or message them on Facebook through Ebay for Business.

Are they an international seller?

Yes - they are an international seller.

The seller hasn't said anything since accepting the return despite my attempts to contact them regarding a label.

When they accepted the return the label should have been generated for you. I would not ask Ebay to step in , I would call them or message them on Facebook through Ebay for Business.

Ebay does not require sellers to pay return shipping on international orders that is likely why the label was not generated. They will likely rule in favor of the seller. I know I won a case where the international buyer claimed damage and expected me to pay return shipping he opened a claim and escalated Ebay ruled for me because he could not prove the return.

It actually says this on the return page now that the date has passed.

Looks like there's a delay with the shipping label

I would contact them first before escalating.

Called eBay just now - seller is on the hook for return shipping if the item is not as described. They are contacting the seller on my behalf to let him know. He has until the 20th to provide shipping cost or a return label.

Updating: The seller provided shipping cost after eBay contacted them and the item is winging it's way back to the Far East.
