I just printed out a first class label from within eBay.
Is it true that the mailman will not pick up the first class mail? only priority mail?

When the USPS first came out with the package pick up service, it was meant to get customers to use Priority Mail. You could get First Class parcels picked up, as long as there was at least one piece of Priority Mail included in the pick up.

Since then, the rules have changed, and I doubt that all Postal employees are aware of this. As long as you are using commercial postage, such as eBay, Stamps.com, etc., and you print the label and apply it to the package, the package is eligible for pick up.

There is one exception, which is a result of outdated rules. If the carrier does not have mail for you on a particular day, the carrier does not have to go up to your mailbox to pick up outgoing mail, unless you have gone to USPS.com and requested a package pick up through the website.

Yes I did request a pick-up for tomorrow. I did this after I printed out the shipping label from ebay.
