Odd 20 Year Old Retail Box Buy

A seller had a few of these "Basketball Value Boxes" for sale of different early 2000's (pre-LeBron) Upper Deck/Fleer products. This was the only one I was able to snag. 2001-02 Upper Deck MVP Basketball.

Don't know much about the product. I wonder if Kobe/MJ autos are even possible in these retail packs. I looked on the back of the box and it's from the good ole Fairfield Company.

Just curious if anyone who was collecting in the early 2000s remembers seeing these kinds of boxes. Was kind of a random but cheap buy. Also does anyone know how long the Fairfield Company has been around?

I'll probably end up opening the box at some point since I can never seem to keep/collect sealed wax, so I'll post any cool cards I pull here if/when I open it!

Just opened it up. What a fun freaking break! Checked the odds on the back of the packs and jersey's and autos are possible. Idk if MJ autos are in here, but the odds stated something about "Authentic Kobe 1:240 packs" guessing it's a Kobe jersey card.

In the first pack alone I pulled a Kobe for my PC along with a 2nd year Jamal Crawford, AI, Nash, Hakeem, and Artest. That's a lot of star power right there!

Other Hall of Famers pulled in the other 9 packs: Jason Kidd, Ray Allen, 2 Scottie Pippen's, Mailman, and Grant Hill

Also pulled a Respect The Game Insert of Jamal Mashburn which was 1:12 packs
My best rookie was of Richard Jefferson
Also pulled a Rick Fox and Brian Shaw for my Lakers PC. Didn't have too much of those guys! And I pulled a Patrick Ewing card of him in a Sonics jersey, but stating that he was traded to the Magic. I'd be lying if I said I knew he was ever a part of those 2 teams.

Finally I pulled this sweet looking Airborn Insert of Shaq 1:24 packs. Probably worthless, but I really like the look of it, and pulling a Shaq Lakers card when he was actively a Laker is cool since I wasn't collecting when he was on the Lakers.

Overall, I'm happy I bought this box and I'm happy I opened it!

10 packs is not a lot but you have a chance for some silver/gold/superscripts I would imagine? And some cool inserts as well. Seems like a fun break though!

Glad you decided to bust. I'm sure it was fun to go through. Love busting old wax, even when you get a 1:12 or 1:24 insert, they sure look cool and feel rare!

I know Fairfield, but don’t ever recall seeing these particular repacks. Looks like you had tons of fun, awesome.
