luckily it has never happened to me but I am curious as to what is eBay’s typical response if a buyer returns to you an empty envelope or a damaged card? I know people say to video opening the return envelope but does that actually help?

This all makes me hesitant to accept offers from 0 feedback buyers. Just wondering if I’d be protected.

Video is worthless, no one is ever going to look at it and it can be faked anyway.
The old hands here will likely tell you they get as much, or more, trouble from long term account holders with plenty of feedback as they do from zero feedback accounts.

Video does not prove anything and Paypal and Ebay do not accept it. Out of many returns over the years I have never had it happen, honestly if you are afraid of losing the money and the item you should not be selling it online regardless of the site. If Paypal or virtually any payment processor is involved you are at the mercy. The Credit Card companies set most of the rules here.

I am in the camp most of my issues come from buyers with thousands of feedback than those with less than 10..

I just had a member with over 10K feedback get mad because I refuse to ship a 100.00 item to a different address than on the payment. Friday gave a buyer with over 7K feedback a non-payment strike.

Not really that is practical. They will tell you to get a police report then they MAY refund the buyer themselves but there is no guarantee they will.
