Anybody ever dealt with a seller on ebay using the name Badgerdale?

His feedback and everything looks pretty solid. Been a member since 1999. Why would you not trust those numbers?

I have bought from him before. Good seller! Also a COMC member. Not sure if he is on here or not.

Yes, numbers look good. Should have clarified, should have asked if anyone's sold to him before.
He signed up for Mercari and first thing he does is lowball me on my Topps Chrome Durant RC...so was just wondering if that was his usual m.o.
I've been seeing lots of "good sellers" lately that are becoming parasitic since this covid-19 bs started.

Many people are desperate to sell right now for obvious reasons. I see nothing wrong with that. The seller has the final say and should not accept it if they are not happy. I have been buying up tons of Ebay inventory right now from people needing cash now.

If somebody lists something at a bargain basement price because they "need cash now" I have no problem at all, even though it undercuts the market.
But if you see nothing wrong with lowballing or trying to take advantage of someone who is desperate?
You realize that many might consider that parasitic, don't you?
Thankfully, I'm not desperate, and don't need to accept lowball offers, or tolerate that kind of unethical behavior, frankly.

Sorry if I make an offer and the buyer accepts they are the ones who agreed. Nobody is forcing them to do so. The seller makes the final decision not the buyer. How is that taking advantage when they are the ones who agreed? Don't like it don't agree to it. Not that big of a deal.
Its a buyers market. Just because you do not need the cash does not mean the next person does not. If I were desperate I would take anything I could get for my items if it meant keeping bills paid.

*"Hey man, I know the last one on ebay sold for $150, and you're asking $110, which is a great price, but just in case you're desperate, I'll offer you $60. I think it's a fair offer."
*For illustrative purposes only. Most of the lowball offers I get, the lowballing scum can't write that well.
We'll agree to disagree.
I don't lowball people hoping they might be desperate, but your mileage may vary. I guess it all depends on where your ethics fall on the scale.

Nothing to do with ethics. If I make an offer and the person accepts they are the ones who accepted, nobody is forcing them. Anyone sending messages like that is a moron anyway. If I make an offer its simply stating my price they have the choice there is no trying to guilt them or anything.
If it came down to me feeding my family or selling a 100 dollar card for 20.00 I would do it in a heartbeat no questions asked and would not feel any anger toward the buyer over it.

Let me guess that offends you as well.
So you are saying its wrong even if the buyer accepts. Ok keep on believing that

YOu must be young or very sheltered if you did you would realize that people are going to try to get things as low as they can. I guarantee you have never started high when negotiating an item. Generally for me if an offer is 50% of my price I consider that a starting point. If its 10% I just decline, sometimes will block but usally just feel its too low to start.
If you feel its too low to start then counter you might get surprised. Had an itema few weeks ago I had 149.99 on it, buyer offered 75.00 for it I countered with 125 and he accepted and was happy. Had he been lower than 75.00 I likely would have just declined.
Now if they lowball and give me a sob story or try to guilt me into accepting I usually block them.

Nah, not really, just curious.
Just find it really funny when someone posts something and then immediately edits so it can't be read...I tend to say what I mean and don't give a damn who likes it or not.

Not young, absolutely not sheltered, want to try again?
Do I start lower than the uppermost amount I'm willing to pay?
Of course I do. But I don't try to figuratively screw somebody. I don't lowball, ever.
So are you saying you never send an opening offer lower than 50% of the sellers asking price? Again, just curious.

I have in the past and nothing wrong with that, based on what you are saying it is wrong now you are saying you do?.
It really depends on the price. Cards only make up about 20% of what I sell and the majority of them are under 50 dollars, there are other things in the world. And I often buy things in bulk for 10 cents or less on the dollar from their asking price its not screwing them they come to me and ask me what I will pay for it and I tell them if they accept I may make another offer or walk away telling them my offer stands many times they call me back.
So how am I screwing them?
I paid 20.00 for a shirt the other day and sold it 2 days later for 175.00 I told the original seller what I sold it for. YOu know what his response was? Great job I have more stuff when you get time and need to replenish inventory. I am going over there tommorow.

Nowhere did I say I offer less than 50% of a sellers asking price.
You should read more carefully.
You honestly remind me of the lowlife card shop owner here in Reno who was my inspiration for joining Mercari.
Offered me $150 for a stack of 100 cards that included multiple Luka Optics, Shocks, a blue velo, the checkerboard, as well as multiple chrome refractors of Tatis, Vlad Jr., Alonso, and a lot more.
Called them "$5 cards", "I sell those all day long", yet didn't have a one of them in his case.
The same vibe I got from him, I'm getting from you the more I converse with you.
Soooo, conversation's done. Let it die.

If he sells them all day long its logical he would not have them in his case because they sold. Maybe there is some other reason he did not want to buy them so threw out a crap offer just to get rid of you. Lots of things there that could explain it. I have had people I simply do not want to deal with try to sell me things and I blow them off with a low offer nobody would take. For the most part I would not pay more than 50 cents for any basketball card. That is my choice like it or not. If you don't I don't give a flip.
Go right on back to your life cause nobody really cares.

scan of card - your asking price - the offer amount
what one person considers a low ball, someone else may find it acceptable.

constructive criticism
pictures are really bad - really grainy. picture of the card back looks like there could possibly be some edge damage above the name kevin, near the 4 green squares. but at the same time, looks like it could be reflection from the soft sleeve.
based on my quick glance of recent sales, your price is not out of order, but based on the pictures, there is no way i would pay that much. i am not trying to justify his low offer (since i don't know what it was), but just giving my thoughts.

I will never understand why people get upset over lowball offers. Decline, counter or move on.
If 2 people agree on a price, how is that wrong?

OP has issues
Starts a thread then gets his beans in a squeeze when someone voices their opinion and speaks from his own experience.
Hey OP- ever had a table at a show? Do you not realize that part of the hobby includes lowballers and nickel squeezers? Guys sliding $5 cards out of sleeves for a forensic evaluation in order to offer $2 because it is not a Gem 10 candidate, but still as sharp as most pack fresh specimens.
I don't dig it when collectors offer me basement prices for penthouse cards either but whatevs. It is what it is. Decline!
Get over it. If you don't like the offer then move on.
Ethics have zip to do with it unless you willfully deceive someone.
Sure, and roast me for editing this to try and make it clear for you and others to get the drift and also reduce the litter.

I get a kick out of some of this postings:
OP asks a question. Gets a few replies OP makes clarification and adds a few comments. Then things goes sideways. OP what do you want from others on this?
Couple thing I would like to know?
1. What % of your asking price is considered Lowballing? I know each person has his.
2. Why do you think he is lowballing scum with just one offer?
3. If you just got off of suspension for name calling why would you start again?? Calling people lowball scum, lowlife, parasitic their opinion worthless
4. Why are you selling? get rid of cards, make money to get more cards for your PC, or is it a business or part time business??
Couple of your comments:
1. I've been seeing lots of "good sellers" lately that are becoming parasitic since this covid-19 bs started. If you look at their point of view. They have no ideal what the market will do, so they have to buy low. They may be willing to help people out the best they can by offering what they can.
2. I don't lowball people hoping they might be desperate, You may want to clarify that or people will wonder why you lowball people.
3. I don't lowball, ever. You may never know that as some buyers may have just rejected your offer.
4. Do I start lower than the uppermost amount I'm willing to pay? Of course I do. Some may thing that is lowball/trying to get it cheaper
5. Thanks for your worthless opinion, though. You asked, Who knows. so you just want opinions that matches yours?
It appears that Badgerdale and your LCS are buying to resell. They have to make offers low so they can make a profit and a low cask flow. Plus they may have 1000s of card they are trying to get rid of.
I have over 150,000 cards I'm trying to get rid of. I have offers of $100.00 to $250.00 but I want $1000. No way am I going to call them scum or being parasitic. They may come back and buy a few cards.

Lowballing is neither parasitic nor unethical behaviour as you said in your earlier post. To each their own how they might choose to participate in this hobby. You don't dig it. Neither do I.
Don't post if you don't want constructive feedback or can't handle the opinions of others.
