2007 Fleer Jordan auto PSA 10 - did Michael lose part of a finger?

A friend sent me a couple of pictures today and wanted to know what I thought. I figured it was worth discussing here as well. Did MJ lose part of his finger or is this an optical illusion? :cry:

Yeah, left side looks trimmed. Probably the top as well seeing as how they were likely trying to doctor that top left corner.

Left, bottom, right are all trimmed. Can't tell on top due to poor after photos of back.

Yeah I wouldn't be surprised if all were trimmed. With how small it looks in the PSA case you can tell they definitely did some work on that one, lol

Serious question: Why is PSA held in such high regard? From everything I read, they’re pretty bad. Slow turnaround times, expensive prices, lax grading, etc. on the other hand, I’ve heard a lot of praise for SGC’s customer service and grading standards yet SGC graded cards are less sought after and sell for less than a PSA equivalent.

I’m still learning here, but it seems like people gotta turn on PSA eventually, no?

The percentage of altered modern cards in SGC slabs is greater than that of PSA. This will probably change down the road as SGC gets more legitimate business, but up though 2019, most of SGC's modern clientele was trimmers (OCSI, primarily).
