View Full Version : odd discrepancy in singles sales vs wax sales
Can anyone explain the following?
2019 Prizm - single prices match sealed for the most part.
2019 Optic - wax is higher than singles.
1989 and especially 1990 Fleer - singles are higher than wax.
My experience until recently has been like Prizm. I would say that Optic is due to people wanting to open stuff due to virus but that makes no sense as it was happening before the pandemic.

I’m guessing people just want a select few of the older cards and not the box of useless commons that remain. Newer stuff has more cards that are still desirable and have more value.

How are you quantifying a matching price? Are you looking at the top cards available and the odds of getting them?
For older cards, I would guess that condition out of packs opened nowadays might not be great, so maybe there some risk baked into the wax price (and a premium on well-graded singles)

This, Are you talking about ROI? Or a specific set/parallel?
Also, I don't think older wax can be compared to new wax because there is no player prospecting with older wax.
