Newbie seller on Paypal question

Ive done two deals now and one just came through and immediately was available balance, while the other says it was "on hold" until after delivery.

Just wanted to make sure this was normal. And if so, why did it only happen on one transaction and not the other?

Yes its normal. Sometimes payments slip through. But generally you can expect holds on payments until you have at least 25 successful transactions.

FWIW it may not be long until Paypal goes to holding everything until after delivery. Nearly all sites are going to a system similar to that.

Great, thanks. That makes sense. I was only worried because the buyer was new and it was for a decent card.
