Hi All. I wanted to get the collective BO opinion on this card I just received today. I really wanted a PSA 9 1989 Jordan and found this one on ebay (near the tip of the current hype train):
https://www.ebay.com/itm/1989-90-Fleer-21-Michael-Jordan-PSA-9-Mint/124151912323?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649
The card arrived today and look at the scans:

It clearly looks to be miscut at an angle along the top border. Was this a common result of poor quality control or a trim job? I mean it clearly detracts from the quality of the card and there's no way it should have gotten a 9. Furthermore, the seller should have disclosed it.
The way I see it I have a 2 options:
1. Try to return it although the seller doesn't allow returns.
2. Resell it for a massive discount and clearly delineate the issue.
What do you think I should do?

Every 89 Fleer is like that.

I had an SGC and it definitely didn't have that but I am not an expert.

You are right. It is jacked up. Really pops on the reverse photo.

It's so bad that it almost can't be a trim. If it is, someone needs to learn about right angles.

What do you think I should do?Trimmed or no, (I'm leaning toward no) if it bothers you send it back.

The seller is letting me return it. For any of you on the lookout for a PSA 9 1989 Fleer MJ, beware because I bet this guy's going back on the market.

I bought a lot boxes of 89 fleer many years ago and this is more than common with the MJ. Just overgraded. Shouldve been 8.5 at best

If anyone has any questions, I'm the seller of this card. I started listing some duplicates on Sunday. Other than selling a few cards last summer, I have not sold any cards since 2013.
Looking at his pics: I do not think the card is altered. I would say it is cut poorly. Overgraded. I did not notice this when I listed the card. I should have noticed this (when taking the pics) and at least have posted pics where you could see the card better. For that, I apologize to the buyer.
When the buyer contacted me, he sent pictures/scans. I checked the pics that I used on eBay. He's right, you couldn't see that in my pics on eBay. I am returning his money once I receive the card.
I plan on selling/listing the card once the buyer returns the card.
Looking for advice/suggestions on selling/listing this card on eBay from Blowout Members. I have 100% positive feedback. I've been collecting since 1982. This is the first return I've ever had. I can understand. I would return it, too.
I'm glad to see the buyer on Blowout. Makes me feel better about the return process.
Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks, guys.

the card is probably gonna be worth double by the time you relist it lol. But yea with all the recent shady stuff with jordan cards graded by psa and bgs, i'm surprised it hasn't softened the market at all.

I would just describe it honestly--- (now that you have that info) its a psa 9, pack fresh, clean card-- does appear to be factory cut funny on the top edge---pretty common with 89 Fleer.

This seller is a solid guy. I’m glad we could work it out on eBay and wish you luck when you relist.

I highly doubt the card is trimmed. These cards where $15 in psa 9 until the hype train.

Tell that to all the trimmed $10 PSA slabs I bought off COMC.

Many miscut cards back in the day. Not every miscut card is trimmed, even though some want them to be. Good on the seller for accepting an easy return.

If it was trimmed it wouldn’t be miscut. They would have trimmed it so it wasn’t miscut.

Proof?
Its funny, when 312 says something is trimmed he provides undisputable proof.
Yet you guys just throw out your opinion with nothing whatsoever to back it up.
You have every right to your opinion. But if you are saying something is not trimmed, prove it.
Why is 312 required to have some evidence to back up his claims and you dont?
