1986 Fleer Jordan BGS 8

A question about a Jordan listen on ebay....
1. any idea what the stains are on the back of the card?
2. wouldn't this have hurt the grade more than it did?

My guess is some kind of stain from sitting in a moldy storage room but hard to say. The corners actually look pretty sharp and not chipped so with an 8 subgrade they seemed to down grade the corners vs the surface. Even still, the surface sub could drop to 7.5 with the "stains" and it'd still be an 8
