Ok, so in a bout of boredom last night I was bouncing around some ebay auctions and came across this...

07 UD Premier TONY GWYNN Triple Patch AUTOGRAPH #14/15 - eBay (item 250308555977 end time Oct-20-08 18:16:47 PDT) (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=250308555977&ssPageName=ADME:X:RTQ:US:1123)

Most people here probably know of UD's mixup with the Tony Gwynn and Tony Gwynn Jr auto stickers where they ended up on the wrong cards. Anyway, I wrote the seller a nice email just to make him aware of it and that he might want to consider tweaking his listing to make buyers aware.

He replies with this...
"This is Sr. signature. I have 4 or 5 Gwynn Sr. autograph cards and probably more than 10 Gwynn Jr sigs. They are almost identical, in fact it's very difficult to tell the difference."

In the immortal words of Mike Ditka...."Who you crappin'??"

Gwynn Sr.

Gwynn Jr.

Not even close.

BTW....if this is someone on this board then I apologize but you deserve it for making up a dumb answer.

LOL.....Did you tell him to sell it as an error? Would that help the value? Or should one of us snatch it up just to resell it....:D

No, I just sent him an email telling him about the UD mistake with the stickers and that he might want to add in some wording saying that so that he doesn't get a dispute opened up when someone realizes they didn't buy a Tony Gwynn Sr autograph.

All I was trying to do was help. I'm too kind.

Have you guys bid on it??? I don't want to go into a bidding war with you guys. I've got my minimum bid I'm going with.:)!

If you're buying because it's an error - don't waste your money.

That was my reasoning. Is Jr. that bad of a player and won't amount to anything? Not worth a semi long-term investment?

Let's just say he's got a ways to go to match his old man.

just sent him a message threw ebay and this is what he had to say....."""After pulling out all of the gwynn autos, Sr. & Jr. and looking closely i believe you are correct. From what I can see is that on occasion Jr. writes very neat (more like Sr.) and on a couple of Sr. cards I have it looks like he got a bit sloppy (making the sigs look more like Jr.). On half of the Jr, cards I have he does add "Jr". I will revise my ad tomorrow am. Thanks for your info. I do really appreciate it. Take Care, Jeff""" seems like he understands now,, i think he was nice cause i told him it was a error card and he might get more money for it lol
