It just seems like LeBron is so fake. I'm not a huge fan of MJ or LeBron but I do respect them as players and realize how lucky I am to have witnessed (no pun intended) both of them play both in person and on TV.

That being said it just seems like LeBron is an actor trying to play MJ. From the times he has broken down and "Cried" after big moments in his career to his interviews he just seems fake to me and trying to be someone else when the clicks hits triple 0's. It's almost like he feels like he has to do the same things MJ did in order to be considered in the conversation for GOAT.

Does anyone else feel this way?

To me he is the biggest self promoting douche in the history of sports. IM NOT SAYING ANYTHING about talent whatsoever. As far as that goes he’s as great of an athlete as anyone has ever seen. But Everything he says seems disingenuous to me, and I think the measures he takes to put his 5 y/o daughter out there the way he does is disgusting

MJ all day

I've always thought MJ is the greatest (as much as I'd like to say Russell) and LeBron was in the conversation for #2. Either way both are amazing players and amazing talents.

In a time where news is instant via social media and nobody can keep anything a secret, LeBron has stayed squeaky clean. I don’t think he’s fake at all, I just think he’s defining his own legacy.

As far as being an actor who “play MJ”, I would put Kobe way more in that category. Not a knock on Kobe, but I think he’s the closest to Jordan that we have seen since Jordan. Bill Simmons has JA Adande on his pod yesterday and there’s a good story about MJ and Kobe.

Love on-court LeBron. Hate off-court LeBron.

Much prefer athletes to take the MJ approach.

I think the biggest difference between them is how Jordan just went out and played for Phil Jackson. He didn't try to influence trades or free agency. Because of that Jordan was more successful.

The best coach LeBron had was Spoelstra and even then there was a moment when LeBron suggested Pat Riley take over. Can you imagine if LeBron was coached by Popovich? Considering his talent LeBron's career has been disappointing.

Lol I bet you guys think about Lebron when you’re watching the Avengers too.
Y’all will be up at 2am watching his tiktok videos trying to psychoanalyze his relationship with his children, looking for flaws and perceived disingenuous behaviors.

Boy we need sports to return asap.

Exactly. Im a big Kobe fan but he was the one that was always wanting to be like Mike. He had the Mamba mentality and was definitely driven almost as much as Jordan.

Lebron isnt fake and nothing hes ever done has reminded me of Jordan. Nothing.

Youre reading this whole thing all wrong.

Haha. Word up.

I love both Lebron and Jordan. They brought me peak enjoyment during their respective playing times. That's all that matters to me. I don't watch professional athletes to help raise my children or steer my moral compass.

Lebron was essentially handed the keys to the world at age 18 and he has exceeded every expectation both on the court and off. In an era where professional athletes almost always have skeletons in the closet Lebron has almost nothing resembling a scandal. Its not fair to call Lebron 'fake' when people dissect every word he says. He HAS to be fake, god forbid sports media/twitter take something out of context. Hell even Peyton Manning has some blotches on his record

Jordan was a drunk, a gambler and a womanizer. Thats fine, he was human. He was fake as hell with the media. When he did that interview with Ahmad Rashad during the Suns Finals, He was hungover. Maybe just high. The “Flu Game”?! Another case of him being hungover.

I dont even think Lebron has ever smoked a cigarette or slept with a woman other than his wife. Lebron had cramps during one of his finals vs the Spurs. You think Jordan would have ever let anyone know he was cramping? Or think about sitting out?! Weak move by Bron.

Lebron pees sitting down. Hes soft. Jordan is hard as a rock. You cant compare the two.

Definately especially after I saw MJ throw powder in the air.

I agree that it's hard to compare the 2 generations when LeBron has been pretty much followed since he was in highschool literally 24/7. This generation of players has no break from the media (some of the times to their own fault on social media) than players pre-social media days.

LeBron being fake is my opinion but my argument is simply just listening to the two of them speak in interviews. Bron tries to sound too smart for his own good. Also go look at the footage of MJ crying after winning his first championship vs Bron crying on the court after winning Cleveland's first championship. This is something I can't prove but just look at the emotion from MJ compared to Bron. I've just always thought Bron was putting on some show to be part of some NBA history highlight clip.

Meh I don't think his emotions were fake..Cleveland had been starved for a championship for decades..they were down 3-1 and became the first team in the NBA Finals history to come back from a 3-1 deficit. I'm not going to sit here and try to judge whether his emotions are "real" or not. For all the crap Lebron gets (and some of it deserved) I'm sure it's mentally draining to deal with all that comes with being the most scrutinized superstar in the league..hell it even overwhelmed MJ himself as he stated numerous times in the doc

I would like to nominate this for assumption of the year. Wasn’t there rumors swirling over a week ago??

What you don't know can't hurt you, I guess.

He's been banging out fresh meat since his early Cleveland days. Pretty well documented unless you chose to turn a blind eye.

Stop glamorizing your heroes.

Every time I’d hear Kobe refer to “the game of basketball” I’d cringe a little. Was such a blatant MJ mimic.
