Hey everyone, I’m new to the group and have just gotten back into collections after taking about 6-7 years off. Before I start buying I want to sell some stuff off just to make room. I have some singles I think shouldn’t be an issue to get rid of but my issue is with the less desirable items. What would be the best way to go about selling things that may hold little to I value or have a weak collectors market? I was thinking about just loading a bunch of stuff into lots and listing that way. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks everyone!

Cards under 50 cents: recycling or donate, or Sportlots
Cards under $2: Sportlots if you have thousands of them and you're willing to sell individually
Cards $2-10: COMC

Agreed with mjohn. Also if you don't want to piece out the lower-end stuff, you can always sell it as a lot on Sportlots auctions/eBay. Just make sure you take a lot of pictures.

At present, COMC is running behind schedule, primarily because of COVID lockdown restrictions. They have suspended new submissions of their basic processing service. If I were a new seller, I would be inclined to wait until they are back up to speed before submitting anything. But I agree that, under normal circumstances, they are an excellent option for cards in the $1 to $49 range.

It's still possible to send cards at the 50 cent / 3 week processing level. If you want to get the ball rolling, you could send in a small batch. Just double check COMC to ensure that each card in the batch has some heft to it. (Lowest COMC asking price of $5 or more for example). At this time, I am not personally sending them anything new until they've had a chance to catch up.

Also keep in mind a lot people don't want to pay $3-4 shipping for a $1-5 card. So you might consider cheaper "PWE" shipping knowing there is some risk with no tracking number.
