I ripped my first of two blasters from Target.

I absolutely love this stuff. I really wish I could find a single hobby box. I have a feeling this is going to be tough to get in the future. They are really nice in hand. The refractors are really really nice.

It's rough. Sorry I'm in a foul mood since my boys are out school now until January with the schools shutting down. Life is not easy. Best looking cards i have busted this year, the refractors and beam teams are just filthy...pulling your guy(s) is tough as this is a HUGE set, but it makes it that much more exciting to hit

This set is confusing. Ok so guys that were in original Stadium Club had the base and parallels and stuff. And then some of these guys have the same picture in this set.

So in the first SC there was an orange refractor#/99 and in this on there's an orange refractor #/25. Does that mean some players will have 2 exact same looking orange refractors with different serial numbers?

Depends on where she’s at in BK, but honestly an hour round trip is pretty much the standard lol. Trust me, it’s not going out of our way (pre-COVID), that’s a daily commute.

Wow, thanks for doing that. Yeah, a nice SP product. Probably will not be that way next year.

Even less printed than Ginter chrome (although not by much) and having a 400 card base. Not going to be many base sets available so hopefully will carry a premium. And masters sets will be rare.

Good point. Forgot about retail. Based on supers retail adds about 550 40 blaster cases. Seems like a lot but each blaster only has 4 packs. Could be possible to get two complete sets from each case with perfect collation so adds another 1,000 base sets to the pile.

probably 1 in 3 or 4 had what i would call dimples, but they were under the surface if that makes sense. they were so prevalent i was trying to figure out if they were intentional design elements..

Auto: Arozarena, Bryan Abreu , Toro, Dobnak

Color: Griffey orange, Ozzie Smith orange, Dunn gold, Kopech gold

Best refractor was Arozarena

No wave’s that I could see yet, still need to sort.

Not a single Robert, Bichette, Lux or Alvarez base.

Triples of some cards including Trout, Soto and Acuna Beam Team.

Will try to gets pics up later.

How did the case turn out?

I would say the Monster Acuna Saved it from being just below average to being pretty good if not a mixed bag still.

The collation was a bit of a mess, it really helped me in some areas and not so much in others

I was overall disappointed with the autos outside of the Red Ronnie and a couple others, but overall can't complain too much

Where i feel i did very well was on refractors, pulled lots of goodies

Only pulled 2 base Lou Bobs but 5 Bichettes :eek:

Still have a good bit of sorting until i know exactly where i stand as far as set(s)

Ya it seems the scrub autos are plenty in this set. I've seen tons of Dubon, Fraley, etc.

Love stadium club every year...was really looking forward to this release. After opening some boxes last night, still love the product. Just dont know if stadium club needed the chrome treatment.

That being said, fun opening. I do have a few questions..

1. Why on earth do they make inserts so hard to get in releases now? Just do not get it
2. Can someone explain the difference between a chrome autograph and update autograph...some of the autos have "CA" -- Chrome Auto. Others have "UA" Update Auto. What is the difference

The more color parallels I see pop up, the more annoyed I am about the approach. Changing the logo color does NOT move the needle!

I haven’t seen one in person, so maybe I’m missing something, but it doesn’t appear that the player’s name is even in the parallel color.

If they had taken the Gold Minted approach, these cards could really generate some excitement. Instead, they went with a more subtle version of the already-subtle black and red parallels from regular Stadium. (At least the new blue parallel /50 stands out a little better.)

Besides cost, what could be the rationale for such minimal coloration?

If someone likes the approach, I’m open to hearing the argument.

It's just a lazy way for them to add more parallels, which is really dumb.

Lazily designed and executed replacement for TCU. This coulda been one of the years best releases. Still a fair break for the SRP but I feel the same way on the color.

Early on Monday morning blasters were in stock at the original price. Had 5 in my cart and could not check out fast enough. Because it sold out so quick is the reason for the price increase.

We had to have gone to at least 20 different Walmarts and Targets in the Dade/Broward areas of South Florida and didn’t find anything. The flipper/greedy SOB game is strong down here. This is why I will never buy retail from the secondary market.

Man I hear ya. Funniest thing was to see a local flipper by me buy up the stadium club right out the gate on release, hah! I watched his listing and he got stuck with it and took a loss to sell it on eBay.

I almost thought about skipping this release if I couldn't find any. Hope your luck gets better!

Yes, many surface issues, which is a bummer. I posted about the surface issues in this thread previously. Pulled a handful of decent cards so far, but the Kyle Lewis has numerous dimples, so not gradeable. A lot of cards have the same issue.

TBH I'm souring on SCC a bit. Found plenty tonight at a couple WMs (6 blasters at one, 3 at the other) and decided just to pick up two. Unlike the repeating Jake Fraley autos in my first two blasters - mentioned earlier in this thread - I didn't get much from these two. The only good pull was a Trout base refractor. I don't know if it's a collation issue or if the set is just so large that it's naturally unlikely you'll pull them, but I've had a hard time getting top RCs. Did get Arozarena earlier and a number of lesser RCs, but nothing of the Lux/Robert/Alvarez/Bichette group.

Kind of stoked, this might be in the running for my new favorite product (only because of photography and card stock).

Definitely my favorite retail baseball product this year. photos, card stock, card condition and it has all the rookies. I know stadium club rookie cards generally lag behind in popularity, desirability and value to Topps flagship and Topps Chrome, but because this is a Chrome product and the cards are so awesome looking, I think there is a chance top rookie cards and rookie card refractors may be quite desirable in the future. Especially if Topps keeps this product on the slate for future years and demand is strong for it.

Seems like people definitely clearing the shelves around here but not sure if that is flippers trying to make a few bucks or there is general demand. I do know when I have run into the usual flippers at target/walmart (guys who tell me they just buy stuff to flip) they are letting me have the Stadium Club Chrome boxes---they are just taking the prizm football.

So leads me to believe, those wanting to find some at retail soon, should be able to over the next few weeks as there should be a few restocks as the flippers are not focused on it

I would be interested in trying to find print runs of TS Chrome versus regular Chrome.

I wouldn't buy them at 115. At that price I'd grab the few singles I wanted. It's a huge checklist and not easy to put stuff.

Found three blasters yesterday at Wally World. Was able to hit 2 autos (Austin Riley and Domingo Leyba) out of the three boxes. The photo selection on chrome is outstanding. A couple of complaints is that I don't like that the gold refractor looks similar to regular refractor with only the logo in gold. I dont know if it was just my boxes but it also seems like some cards are longer than others.

I may be crazy but the blasters seem like a great deal compared to hobby. Hobby has I believe 2.5 times the cards but blasters are going for around $30. When you factor in the x-fractor packs in the blasters I think they are a much better deal.

Found several blasters at my Walmart, along with Bowman Platinum and Update up the wazoo. Bought one, and the best thing in it was a Juan Soto refractor card. Other than that, pffft. May go back and get another one later if there are any left.

USPS and FEDEX are running the slowest I've ever seen. Perhaps they are being very cautious with delivery estimates.

Works both ways. If you find the product via the app or website, you can click "Subscribe". It will tell you when they are available to purchase. However, you must re-subscribe once the initial notice occurs. And you are not likely to get a notification if it is a small restock that gets bought out instantly by bots/people.

Banning may be necessary but the way it's being handled makes no sense. It's obvious a machine is behind some of the account restrictions. I don't mean just implementing the restrictions but actually deciding to place them.

For instance, I had an order for 2 Topps Walmart sets auto canceled with only one previous order and that was also just two sets. Like everyone else, I hardly ever buy any cards online due to bots but I cleared out almost 3 trays of Mosaic back in May. Walmart combines both in-store and online purchases in your order history if you used the same payment cards. So if you ever buy in quantity from any store, even if only once like me, their data mining applications can see it and use that information to possibly restrict your online orders.

For the color I got decent/good names, so that helps, and of the reg refractors, did pretty well too, some shown. Two big autos but rest were garbage. One orange of Lopes, golds of Rogers and Rojas. Two full Beam Team sets, poor collation on other insert sets. Also, already sorted the base and I know people are curious on how the set build goes. Accounting for about 5 base per pack, you should come up with just short of 3 sets with perfect collation. I got....

.... 1 set. And 6 cards short of a second set. Mostly enough for just two sets and the remainder of the cards were up to 6 of each, so again, poor collation.

The 6 I need for that second set:

I don't think people are really paying attention to how rare the wave refractors are. They are tough odds but the prices are still low. Then again, I've seen low prices on the red parallels for the lesser sought players. SC just never commands much value

Unfortunately this will never happen. Me..I'll never buy retail markup, but look at the Prizm Football thread, there are people foaming at the mouth ready to pick this up at 2-2.5 times retail because it's a long term hold for them and they think it's still a good deal at the price. A lot of people who hold wax long term will always provide a safe floor for Flippers to still make their profit unfortunately

What really makes my calculations possible is the fact only 2 types of packs exist for this product AND 1 pack has an SN parallel the other doesn't (allowing you to break down product quantities for hobby vs retail) . That is extremely rare in today's Topps world.... 8-10 pack versions of a specific product is not uncommon anymore... Each pack with (sometimes wildly) different odds.
I'm NOT a math guy but I do have my MBA and if I can put any of those concepts to work to get any slight ROI edge I will. :)

Holy crap, can't believe I just found these on a work break run to the Target across the street! They even had more Update blasters and the red parallel hanger packs. Grabbed two of the four (since that's apparently the max). Don't usually get any SC but just in case no one in the fam got me any cards for Xmas, I'll have something to open this weekend now without digging into the more valuable stash. :D

I've only pulled 1. 1 base trout but 5 or 6 of other guys. I've had a hard time pulling beam team inserts. I think I have 4 total from all the blasters. I'll put a couple scans of my favorites here.

No, it was Walmart selling them. Their new pricing algorithm for sports cards increases the price after each sellout, occasionally adjusting downward again later if sales dry up. It’s been this way for a lot of recent products.

Retail is always brutal - rip hobby. Sure the box cost a bit more, but way less than 15 blasters and you'll definitely have both Robert and Bichette for the amount spent.

6 waves -clevenger, banks,Cobb, Yount, polanco, aguilar
10 base autos - Ohtani the only big name

25 blaster + 2 hobby and still a few away... I'll drop you a line.... I've wasted too much money putting this together.

I was able to order several 2019-20 NBA Hoops Premium Stock box sets back in November. My card wasn't charged until the boxes were shipped to me, so I wouldn't take that as a sign that your order didn't go through. As someone above stated, I guess the 1/8/21 estimated shipping date was correct. Thanks for the response!

I got 2 of these blasters this morning at Target and one for them had a Hunter Henry base Red Refractor /5 and a Luis Robert Shimmer Auto redemption. Does anyone know if the Shimmer is /5 or non numbered? Cardboard Connection doesn’t say, but everyone I’ve seen on eBay has been /5. Either way, very happy with my first 2 blasters I’ve seen on the shelf in several months.
