To me, Mears are one of the least trustworthy LOAs you can have with game used items. They have various grades from 5-10, with 5 simply being something that matches style, to 10 which is something supposedly with provenance such as a team letter.
Don't get me started on how shoddy some of the letters they give 10s for are either...
Well Probstein has two significant game jerseys up now, a Lebron (https://www.ebay.com/itm/LeBron-James-2005-06-Game-Used-Cavaliers-23-Jersey-Reebok-Size-52-MEARS-A10-LOA/362999557893?_trkparms=aid%3D111001%26algo%3DREC.SEED%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20160727114228%26meid%3Dcc03e70770774bba9f02fccfcacc4f89%26pid%3D100290%26rk%3D2%26rkt%3D4%26sd%3D383555123321%26itm%3D362999557893%26pmt%3D0%26noa%3D1%26pg%3D2060778&_trksid=p2060778.c100290.m3507) and a Jordan (https://www.ebay.com/itm/Michael-Jordan-2001-02-Game-Used-Wizards-23-Jersey-NIKE-Size-50-MEARS-A10-LOA/383555123321?_trkparms=aid%3D111001%26algo%3DREC.SEED%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20160727114228%26meid%3Dcc03e70770774bba9f02fccfcacc4f89%26pid%3D100290%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D4%26sd%3D383555123321%26itm%3D383555123321%26pmt%3D0%26noa%3D1%26pg%3D2060778&_trksid=p2060778.c100290.m3507).
The thing is, both of these got a 10 for seemingly no reason at all? One has light wear, one has minimal. One comes with a Dave Medima LOA but that certainly isn't the kind of credibility that would result in a 10. So what gives?
I had a quick look at photomatching and the Wizards logo seems far too high on the MJ, while the Lebron didn't match anything I could see.
So without a photomatch you are literally buying these on the LOA, which in this case doesn't seem warranted at all.
So as usual, buyer beware. They could be legit and maybe someone could photomatch them but I'll certainly be staying clear.
