Hold or Sale is the question? Supposed to be a stud and the number 2 pick in the draft.

It's a tough question, but it all really depends what you bought into him for. If you can recoup a lot or make a ton off it, then sell; however, if you ripped got lucky and got him in a break and you don't mind risking some capital for a higher return, hold. Honestly, I wouldn't mind holding one of his autos. The only player I'd be jumping immediately to sell is Dominguez.
Sell, he doesn't even have a hit this spring:coffee:

In the recent history of Bowman prospects (we'll say during the "hype era"), about 5% of the base prospect autos stay "near" their initial price for the first few months. 95% drop somewhere between 20% and 60% within 3 months.
Some of the top guys don't drop as much (enough demand/hype to eat up glut of supply) and if someone is SP (like Misner last year with Draft) it obviously helps. SOMETIMES when they used to play baseball a prospect has some good numbers in the Spring or early in the year and that helps keep them from dropping, too (good timing).
But from a pure economics perspective, two things are certain:
1. Sealed Wax is most stable. If you think any prospect is going to be good and worth holding, it is LIKELY the wax they are in for Bowman is going to stay in demand. BUT WHAT'S THE FUN IN THAT?!?
2. Sell everything single you can early. First person wins 95% of the time. You risk returns, of course, but there is a nonzero chance Witt is never more expensive than he is at this second. I never do this - but it's the right move (economically).

100% true except I have never seen hype with like a prospect like Jasson upon initial release of Bowman Draft. Ever.

If we’re talking about Chris Sale or Ernie Whitt, then sell. If we’re talking about Bobby Witt, Jr, then hold. He’s only 19 years old.

He is, but is he going to hit? His biggest question mark.

He will hit. 5 minutes of pro ball and he may not have killed it, but he wasn’t overmatched. Either way, sample size is way too low to sell now.

Thanks. Still on the fence I only opened one box and it was from profit money on some prizm football singles I bought early on and flipped. May send to get it graded.

Fair assessment. Feel like he might of been equally matched. But you are right it's a small sample. SS is a tough position. Feels like a middling prospect/more valuable real life.

Jeez way to early to say he is done lol. He has good pedigree. He for sure needs to work on his batting. He is not going to be putting up big numbers. But, he is a great shortstop with a little power. I like him.
He brings me back to watching his father. I went to St Johns Elementary in Canton Ma. I remember his dad came home to get married (back in the mid 80s, not sure what year) and he practiced pitching by himself in our tennis courts. I just watched him all day out there and did not pay attention to one thing in class. Was a big thrill to have an MLB pitcher throwing out there and get to watch him up close.
