I just got an email that this show is happening up in Allen.

Factor about $7 hotel garage parking into the admission price unless there are spots on the surrounding streets.

If you are willing to walk a bit (yes I know it can be stifling in the 95+ degree heat expected this weekend) there is plenty of parking in both the Market Street and the Restaurant parking lots on the other side of Bethany.

There are also a couple of garages a little further down.

Since my COMC office is in one of those offices with a garage attached so to speak I do know this area fairly well. I'm not setting up but will be walking around.

BTW -- a lot of nice places (mid range) are in the Watters Creek center -- I know these ARE open: Panera Bread, Village Burger Bar and I suspect some of the others are open as well but am not sure (Cheesecake Factory, PF Chang, Brio's, Snappy Salads, Fish City Grill, a couple of pub styled places and a couple of other places.

If you leave the show and want cheaper or fast food there are options one street north (McDermott). Among them are Arby's. Boston Market, Scotty P's, Chic-Fil-A, Jason's Deli, etc. I'm not sure which of these are take-out only at this time, which ones are open for sitdown and which ones are not yet open. There are plenty of other places as well which may or may not be open even.

You will not starve in this area :)

Rich

Immediate 1st day reactions. I thought the event went well. I wish more dealers and consumers were wearing masks. Room was airy and the door being open helped also. Almost everyone did practice physical distancing.

Is it safe to have shows now? Want to go, but with packed nature of most shows, I just want to keep myself and others safe.

Same here. I'm still a little wary with all the cases in this area. I'm sure Friday was manageable but Saturday may be a different story...

Was there both Friday and Saturday. Crowd was about the same both days. Huge aisles so not much problems. The hotel restaurant was not open and the $10 a day to get in were the main things I didn’t like.
