Anyone having problem? Ordered and paid some cards from May 14-17 and tracking still shows pre-shipment is that normal? Seller said he already mailed the cards

Very normal. Cards I recently mailed first class, NJ to Michigan, took 31 days. Covid has slowed things down. Tracking isn’t always updated; packages get stuck in transit. However, every package I’ve mailed has arrived at its destination.

I bought a card on Ebay on the 12th, the seller provided the tracking # that day but the card didn't start moving until 2 days ago. They must be bogged down.

In Texas had a Brady Metal Rookie mailed on 5/12...tracking number is there but no movement
Also have a cheap Lebron that I won on 5/2 took forever to move but now it's moving slowly, still "in transit"

My local post office said they have 10% of their normal workforce right now. I'd imagine lots/most have limited numbers right now, so mail is going to take a while.

I shipped a package on May 6th, priority flat rate that was delivered on May 18th. No issues noted on the tracking, just slow.

I've noticed certain parts of the country have slow downs and others seem to be normal. Illinois, new york, California, Florida and some times Texas are all areas I've noticed a delay. But also have had some sellers delay shipping which wasn't the case before. Only had one card take longer then a couple day delay and that was shipped in a PWE.

On the 29th day I refunded the buyer. On day 31 the card was delivered. If you refund, continue to check the tracking.

I shipped a package of cards out on the 21st.
April 21st.
It hasn’t moved since April 26th.
I told the buyer that if they don’t show up by the end of the month then I’ll refund him. And if the cards show up after that, he can just enjoy them. At least both of us will have closure one way or another.

I had a real scare mailing a 4K card from California to New York. I mailed the card First Class 3-Day with $500 insurance. I was working from home so I didn't have my usual stuff available to me (printer, priority shipping box, etc) so I mailed it in a small brown cardboard box. The buyer purchased the card on a Sunday, so I wanted to get it out to him asap. That was mistake #1! I should have taken my time. I should have went to the post office grabbed a priority shipping box. Anyway, I decided to mail it first class/$500 insurance/Signature confirmation. The post office clerk told me that I didn't need to pay extra for the signature confirmation because I insured it for $500 and they will have to sign for it anyway. I later learned that wasn't true. I should have just purchased full insurance. So, the card finally arrives in New York on Friday and usps tracking says its out for delivery and will be delivered by 8pm. 8pm comes and goes no delivery. Status changes to "Awaiting delivery scan". I started to really worry but I figured it would probably get delivered on Saturday. Wrong! It didn't get delivered on Saturday either. I'm in full panic mode. I literally could not sleep that night. I called usps they suggested I reach out to the New York post office. When I called them, it would ring about 20 times and auto hang up on me (so frustrating). I must have tried to call them 30X. I found there fax number online and started spamming faxes to them making them aware of the situation. ANYWAY - my persistence paid off they hand delivered it on Memorial Day! When I got the phone notification that is was delivered I jumped off the couch in celebration. :D

That is really cool of you, especially during these difficult times.
Mail is wierd, i ordered a book off ebay, and was here BEFORE the date that usps had on tracking, as in 3days from item marked shipped to my door.

Guys, help me understand the American Postal System. I've got something coming to me via the Global Shipping Program (which I am very well versed in) but its getting there with Fed Ex. I'm experiencing unusual updates, that they can't deliver to the GSP because its closed - 'Delivery exception - Customer not available or business closed.' 4 updates like this, spanning 3 days (weekend included). Is Fed Ex the budget cousin of USPS? I've never had USPS unable to deliver because its closed? And what is UPS? The same as USPS? Whats the hierarchy of reliability...
Apologies to derail OP's post here with my selfish paranoia... Would love to be educated about the American Postal System once and for all and this seems like the ideal spot.
Good luck all you collectors out here! We need our packages arriving safely to stave off that gray hair sprout.

UPS and Fedex are private shipping companies. Both reliable. USPS is funded by the US federal government. Very reliable as well. As for your shipment, make sure your country is not on the excepted list. I know shipping companies are not shipping to some countries because of Covid. And shipping is delayed to the countries that are receiving packages from the States.

Sold something on ebay. Have sent out everything else not issue but had issues with one package. Been stuck in transit now for 2 weeks, but the post master has called me twice to ensure that it is not lost just delayed. Just the times we live in with a lot of their employees out.
