I never thought I’d see a 2012 prizm base rookie psa 10 get close to 3k.

It’s gotta plateau eventually I would think.

If they win this year does this go to 4k? Or do you think it levels out around $3000-3500?

It is crazy how they are more than an immaculate, not a PSA 10 immaculate if there even is one as these are super tough to grade due to chipping. But this was the first year immaculate and was part of the attempt to replace exquisite.

But 2012 Prizm is king right now, and that’s why I own that one too.

I think the main theme collectors are trying to spread is collect what you like. I do think most collectors have no attraction to Kawhi which would result in his overall price.

Now with the investors flooding into the market which they do not care at all about the collector aspect. They just see the stats/rings and wonder why he is low so they buy him up. Makes perfect sense to me. Kawhi should be labeled as a flip because will anyone care about him in 20 years? Probably not. He's just not a likeable guy which makes it hard to collect him.

Luckily for Kawhi owners it looks like the investment side is a lot stronger than the collector side, so you can still see his cards rise as he reaches new heights. My biggest concern would be the long game with his cards.

To also add. Prizm has established itself as the iconic investment staple of modern must-have collectible (Much like chrome decades ago). In doing so, Panini mass produced in the more recent years to meet supply, making that 2012 year truly special --- short supply, shorter supply in silver, simple, elegant and only two other parallels (green, gold). As the iconic investment staple, it's liquid, easy to flip. What would one rather have 30 Benjamins, two ounze of gold or a psa 10 kawhi. That's now, until it gets hoarded and dry up. That's what happened Lebron's silver 25k and it's not even his rookie.

Really? I feel like that’s more than or perhaps about what a 2012 kawhi NT might sell for? Or maybe the NTs have moved up a lot more too, and I just haven’t noticed or there haven’t been enough sales.

I get that there are ~180 silvers and 199 NTs but that still seems a little weird if those two cards are selling anywhere near parity.

That silver BGS 10 is a good deal at 35k. If base PSA 10 at 3k, PSA 10 silver is at 30K and a BGS would be 50-60k easy. Buying that silver bgs 10 at 35k, is like buying base psa 10 at 1400-1600.
