I came across this card on Twitter and see its pretty cheap compared to other Luka rookie cards. On top of being cheap, it has a patch and is /99. Any particular reason as to why it's relatively cheap? Worth a buy?

Edit: I also feel his Select Purple RPA is relatively cheap as well. Just found it pretty surprising.

I graded & sold Doncic #77/99 BGS 9.5 and did well.

Its a cheaper insert RC but anything numbered of doncic is good and will go up.

Yeah, I agree! It is a good looking card as well, which is always good!

As a collector, I would never buy a card with player-worn memorabilia. Also it doesn’t have the RC logo

True, I completely get the "RC" logo. What's wrong with player-worn memorabilia?

I believe that Player-worn just means that they sat in a room put it on and took it off as opposed to game-worn which means they wore it in an actual NBA game. Player worn are like all the memorabilia cards that are made from the jerseys they wear at the rookie photo shoot.

Go to this article and see the picture of Mark Ingram. After that image you should understand why player worn is hated in the hobby.

No RC, nothing that says "rookie" on it.

If the intent is to keep because you like the design/player - it seems like a great buy.

If the intent is to resell later - just know you'll have some hurdles because no RC shield and nothing that says rookie on the card. You'll have to point out "it's from 2018-19 so it's technically a rookie card".

The player worn vs game worn stuff is kind of a moot point because I think ZERO Luka rookie jersey cards are game worn. So you can't have both a rookie card AND a jersey card.

Thank you all! I definitely like the looks of the card, so that could still be a buy. Completely know what you mean on game-worn vs player-worn. I appreciate all the help!

Flawless RPAs are the only game-used rookie jerseys. They just don't have the RC logo, which is simply an error on Panini's part (which I hope they are correcting this year).
