Prizm vs optic

Hey guys, I cleared out some of my PC to get a Lebron card. I’m thinking either the optic holo from this year or the silver prizm. Which one do you think would hold value more? This isn’t something I’m buying then flipping, but I would like to purchase something that will appreciate if the need comes. Any insight is greatly appreciated! I’m new to the Lebron game as I don’t have any myself, so that’s where the questions come from. Also, please feel free to point me to another Lebron card if you feel I have a better option. I’m looking to spend 2-250.

This year is Lebron's Prizm Silver Lakers 'rookie kard.'


2018 was Lebron's first Laker Optic holo.


It's a matter of preference, but I'd take the Prizm in this case, because this weird market actually places importance on first year jersey appearances, as ridiculous as that sounds.

I kind of felt the same. Plus I feel prizm holds higher value than optic imo at least silver wise. Thanks for the input

Hard to believe the Prizm silvers were readily available for 40-50 bucks all day every day back in December/January before all this madness happened.

I liked the 2018 prizm mosaic the most. I don’t care about weather this one or the 2018 optic or 2019 prizm will be the most valuable, but I thought it had the best image. I loved that dunk.

Prizm Lebron in his first Lakers Uni is definitely more desirable in my opinion... just like his first Prizm card in 12-13. In my opinion, it’s Prizm first, then spinoffs of the brand (like optic, select, mosaic, etc).

I’d compare 2018 optic and this years prizm. I’d take 2018 optic. Iconic set, and for most when you think of Lebron Lakers cards that Optic is the first that comes to mind, way lower print run.

2018 Optic Holo PSA 10 - 108

2019 Prizm Silver PSA 10 - 1,007 (and quickly growing)

Considering the 2018 Optic is his first holo/silver in a Lakers uniform, far more rare in good condition, AND is a better looking card from a more iconic set, its not really a debate for me. 2018 Optic all day even when taking price into consideration.

give me the optic silver. Black Velocity is sick. But Tiger Stripe is damn sick tho in prizm.

I prefer the Optic photo to the Prizm. If we're talking firsts, the Mosaic Silver is very cool looking as well.
