Been selling on Ebay for about 17 years or so and been selling cards a decent amount since I started collecting again last year. I sold a Bol Bol lot and they put a hold on my money until it's delivered. 100% feedback on ebay no returns or anything. Why now? Worth it to call them about it or is it random? No idea why it happened

I've also been through this last July 3, Paypal held my money for about 3 weeks even when the item was delivered last July 7. It's a good thing my buyer was very cooperative. He called Paypal and told them that he received the item.

This sucks. They still held and limited my account even when after the item has been delivered. I contacted Paypal but nobody responded immediately. It took me 3 weeks to get the money.

Is this the new normal when selling direct Paypal, where every time we sell an item it must first be confirmed by the buyer that it has been received before we can get the money?

Yeah I guess I'll wait and see next week if it comes off the hold after it's delivered. I'm not in need of the money right now but I'm just confused why it happened.

Possibly part of their new Managed Payment process where they hold the money until item is delivered. That way the gain the interest on all the money they hold during that period of time AND of course protect you and the buyer.

Don't you feel better now?

Yup, I have the same thing. I've been a member since I believe 2001? Anyhow, 100% positive...they state that if you don't sell a LOT continuously..such as any breaks even..AND if something is selling for more than your usual sales, or is different from what you normally sell..etc..basically absolutely anything they can do to hold. Usually for me it's anything near $100 or higher gets held. Doesn't matter how many good sales I've had since they're not close enough together AND current.

I think I’ve been getting my payments before it’s delivered on items.

I don't sell a ton and usually sales are below 100. All cards for a long time. This lot I just sold was 100 even. Last thing I sold that was over was for 145 last month and that didn't get held.

Only thing I can think of is the Bol Bol hype was just too unbelievable for Ebay and Paypal :D

That's bonkers. USPS are incompetent and don't even finalize their scan on like 5% of my sales. I would be pissed if this was a high priced item OP.

Is your PP business or personal? Holds shouldn't be happening with business accounts.

Happened to me too for the first time yesterday after a lot of completed sales including for ones on much higher $ dollar. I was told just upload tracking and you'll get your funds within a day after confirmed delivery. We'll see. The reason the paypal agent gave me was they want to "reserve funds in case of refunds, etc". Strange because this was a $115 sale and I have around $5k sitting in my paypal account balance to "cover refunds"..

This happened to me 3 or 4 times the past 2 months since I've started selling again. First it was because I reactivated me account after awhile. First 5 or 6 sales were held. Now the only time it happens is if ebay thinks the buyer account is sketchy. My last hold was an Asian buyer and I shipped to a "shipmycards" type place. Either way the holds always released and I got my money.

My managed payments have been clearing within hours. Anything I sell before midnight ends up in my bank account the next day.
