Back in 2006, when I was 9 years old, my father bought me a pack of 06-07 Topps Basketball. I proceeded to beg and barter him to buy me more of these packs. I began putting them into a binder and simply fell in love with collecting. In the 14 years since I have fallen in and out of the hobby, gone through high school, college, and have gotten a job. I always think back to the 06-07 Topps as the progenitor of my love for the hobby.
Back then I could not afford Topps Chrome, and why get 4 cards for $3 when I could get 12 for $2.50?? Going back and putting this 06-07 Topps Chrome Gold refractor set has brought back many good memories of the origin of my collecting as well as of my childhood. It also is a way to possess cards that as a kid I could have never dreamed of getting, I mean the odds were 1/266 packs and 1/50,000 packs for the autographs. This set is currently at 35/210 with a few duplicates to boot. Shaq and rookie Rondo are the current big boys. Big thanks to spauthentic84 for selling me the Shaq and costing me hundreds on cards of players like Adam Morrison, Andrea Bargnani, and Kwame Brown (okay Kwame was cheap, I mean its Kwame). Check back next time when I sell my car and a few vital organs to buy the Lebron.
