Quick question... Do you guys think Golden Tate has a chance to make any impact in the NFL?

i think so. last year just wasnt the time for him to get his feet wet. with all of the injuries and player changes. he'd be a good 4th reciever and on trick plays.

Tate was a big disappointment, as concerns over his route running left him at the bottom of Seattle's receiving rotation all last season.

Still, sometimes you need to give WRs 2 or 3 years to develop. But more was expected out of the gate for Tate.

Exactly what I was going to say, he is a great WR but he won't do anything great until they get a real QB in there

Tate came out of college as a junior, after breaking all kinds of records and making Jimmy Clausen look like the #3 QB in the draft. He's young, raw, and did have some route running issues. The thing is, when he was on the field, and did get the ball in his hands, he made and impact. Minor technical mistakes though, kept him on the side lines. He needs a year or two to develop, but I think hes going to be a very solid slot or #2 receiver.. and honestly in the right situation could very well blossom into a go-to guy. Last year, it was a pretty unique situation in Seattle. They traded Deion Branch and Nate Burleson, and still had Mike Williams, Brandon Stokley, Deon Butler, and Ben Obomanu all with more experience and a better understanding of the playbook in front of him. Less time on the field=less time to make an impact..(good or bad..) A quarterback that makes better decisions would help as well. :) I'm a Seahawks fan, and I collect him myself. I also watch every game and whatever I can read about or watch (practices, etc...) in between. He is good, he just needs a little more experience...

If you're gonna quote this "We want the ball, we're gonna win!" --Matt Hasselbeck, after winning the O.T. coin toss, shortly before throwing an interception to lose the game. ('03 NFC divisional playoffs)" , you should probably get the quote right....

...apparently I thought the topic was Golden Tate, not the quote in my sig. If you wanted to call me out on a mistake on my sig, you could PM me.. I guess I should be more careful when remembering a quote from 8 or so years ago. I will change it though, to get it right.. I don't want to incorrectly lead people to think he said win instead of score, which in overtime is pretty much the same thing anyway, but thats beside the point. Incorrect is incorrect. I apologize to all for my mis-quote.

Don't ever let it happen again!

Signature nitpickers aside, your analysis of Tate was spot-on. I was all ready to post my opinion...but I read your post and couldn't have said it better. :)!

Thank you for the kind words, I put a little thought into it and tried to be as objective as I could be, being a Seahwaks fan and all.. but I also don't want to give up too much info, because then everyone will drive up the prices on cards I want

I have about $1400 invested in him, so he better do good! Seriously though, kid has skills. I see him as a Steve Smith type if he gets a good QB.

Man, those are some nice cards in your avitar. Drool for sure! I wish I had the money! I have some cool Tates if you want to check out my bucket in my "Hawks" folder. I'm not selling, but they're is some nice ones! Do you have a bucket? I just like to check out nice Tate cards!
BTW, agreed on the Steve Smith type, hes an aggressive ball hawk, just needs to work on awareness.
