Quick question 2007 Bowman chrome Barry Bonds refractor

Is there something I’m missing about this card? I have one on eBay and it absolutely took off, just wondering.....clueless

Looks like it's right around where it should be. It's generally a $20ish card.

There was something about Bonds in 07 in both Topps and Bowman flagship and Chrome sets

They were unofficially SP’d or maybe added to sets later in production

Bonds withdrew from the MLBPA (https://www.espn.com/mlb/news/story?id=1661883) near the end of his career. Active players generally join that group automatically, and they get representation and reuneration through it for merchandising deals. When Topps et al pay for the rights to make products with baseball players on them, they are not usually not individual deals with the players but part of a blanket arrangement so each major leaguer gets some amount of money each year. Certain players have refused to join over the years, causing them not to have cards. Bonds's withdrawal meant he had to be excluded from most card sets after a certain point.

Topps's unique arrangement with the players as individuals, which allows them to print rookie cards of guys years ahead of their appearing in the majors, allowed them to continue to make cards of Bonds after his withdrawal. So he has relatively few cards in 2005-07 and his nicer ones tend to be worth more.
