Was wondering the same, I think they may have some internal guidelines based on price, assuming these are ~$25 (seems like under $100 is 3; $100-? is 2; and Brooklyn Collection + is 1[or was 1 before 2019])

We buy what's available. 2020: the year of nothings plenty. Since all the new demand/buyers they're trying to spread the love to keep everyone involved.

I'll be in for my three MC boxes. It will be interesting to see if they go the raffle route again for non-MC like they did with BB and FF. If they do go with a raffle, I would think that would mean that the PR has been reduced. Unless everybody ends up winning the raffle. :-)

Lol that would be funny. Everyone enters, everyone wins and excitement abounds... then they open up for normal purchases with 20 box limits, ship those out first... and then right at the end raffles and MC boxes haha:)

Last year was close to 12,000 boxes. Makes sense to allow 3 since that is what was offered for FF and a little bit lower PR. If 2,000 members that is half of the PR if kept the same.

This is actually one of the products advertised for early access (same with Sapphire)- was strange to me at the time (Sapphire wasn't ha) but makes sense now. I'm not sure these are going to be the best flip, but I think its worth the assumed $75 to try

I've been thinking about this release and its "flipability" and I think I'm actually going to pass on my MC boxes. I think there will be a secondary market though not a strong one initially (ie not worth it) and I don't have the strength to hold unsealed wax (even garbage like this has proved to be in its past). Am I the only one feeling this way? Feel free to quote this if I'm super wrong, ha!

Actually not sure about this either. Seems like the only reason is "It's only $75" assuming it's only $25 a pack. I really like the card design in the past, but didn't realize just how little they go for. For 2019, PSA 10 Eloy RC auto last went for $75 and a PSA 9 Soto /10 auto went for $74!

The limit is only for Montgomery members and it's a nice little perk I think. The general sale might not have a limit

I get the point. This doesn't seem to be a product that warrants a box limit. But Topps wants to avoid what happened with BS Draft and Bowman Heritage last year. Also, the product does not have a huge PR and will most likely be around 12,000 boxes. So allowing MC members the opportunity to purchase about half the PR is a nice perk as noted above.

2018 was certainly worth buying in bulk, Acuna, Ohtani, Buehler, Devers, Albies, Trout, and a handful of other worthwhile autos including Joe Torre and Altuve. I pulled at least one of each main RC auto in my 40 boxes ($1000) with half of them color and a 1/1 Black Trout. I know that’s being a lucky sob, but even taking away the 1/1 Trout I easily got my money back before considering the base, and b/w, blue, gold parallels.

I passed last year as the auto list wasn’t strong and more filler than years past. I might buy 3 this year just in case, but I won’t buy big until I see an auto list, Topps auto lists have been getting worse and worse since 2010, with a ridiculous amount or repeat autos available in half a dozen other 2020 releases

3 boxes are good enough for me to enjoy the break while not overspending.

So I have a serious problem with the 3 max limit. It says it in the email, but it doesn’t say it on the website. You can only purchase 3 at a time on the website, but it doesn’t say anything that is said in the email about cancelling your order if you purchase more than 3. And there are a number of MC members who say they don’t get emails. I know when I’m at work I simply check the Topps website and go to MC exclusives to see if anything is there. I don’t wait for an email. Who’s taking the chance on purchasing more than 3 now?

Good point, but maybe if most MC members pre ordered then they will keep the gravy train rolling and try to always offer us a presale on more products hot or cold! Never know when something unexpectedly catches fire.

(Thats consensus on the finest flashback, right? I never heard any pre hype about it, but I sometimes miss stuff.)

If you have never opened these basically all of the stars have about 5-10 autos and then there are several of the lower tier names. You could buy 10 boxes and get 2-3 of the same low tier auto names. It has happened every year for me.

If you buy a TN product for the free shipping expect to be waiting a while. Since you ordered together, Topps will typically wait and everything together. This means your 10 Arch-SS boxes will sit on the shelf till TN card is made and ready to go.... even then FedEx Saver can be a trainwreck. Tracking can be wildly inaccurate and I've had orders take a month in transit.
Only time Topps shipped me something separately I paid for overnight shipping on a team auto set. Topps sent team base immediately overnight and auto via Saver later. The entire reason for paying for overnight was to have more secure shipment and tracking for player auto.

Based on the pack odds, current market and improved auto checklist these will hold at $40+ a box. Last year Eloy, Alonso, Vlad and Soto were the only autos that fell at a reasonable rate that were decent hits.

Design is awesome this year, has a much deeper checklist across the board including Robert, Lewis, Bichette, May, Alvarez plus a ton of mid tier rookies. Will be interesting to see how SP Acuna, Torres, Soto and Alonso are in the set.

Do you mean if Topps allow non-MC to buy after the presale? They did on day two...9/18...and sold out. As another person mentioned, last year and even in 2018, the boxes were available at least for a couple of days...not this year...so either the bots bought a ton of it...or the print run may be the same as the past or possibly even lower.

My bad man wasn’t trying to be a d***... I really don’t get to open much of anything anymore with prices where they are at and retail is always run ragged. So for $25 a box with guarenteed autos just wanted to maximize this rip.

Have enjoyed opening these the past 3 years...last year bought 10 and hit a Vlad Jr gold auto this year only bought 4 and hit a Robert blue border parallel auto redemption /50 So luck continues...wish I bought more.

On a personal note for this years release the cellophane wrapper sucks for the cards, issues with the edges/borders of the cards and the cards seem super glossy this year compared to past releases

EDIT: Just ran the numbers. For players with greater than 5,000 plate appearances, Ed Kranepool has the 18th lowest bWAR ever. I don't subscribe to Stathead so it doesn't show me the worst one. I can say that Keith Moreland and Alfredo Griffin meet the criteria and have lower bWAr.

Frustrating that Topps has Bichette and Lux on the Auto checklist but they certainly did not get put into the pack out. Amazing how rare autos for Ryan, Trout, Soto, Acuna appear to be and these guys certainly didn't sign Blue, Gold or B&W parallels. Topps should really have to print this on the wrapper like they used to with Group A, B, C odds etc.

Yes a lot of bad autos just like any other product, but for $100 worth of packs at SRP you are getting close to a base set, 4 autos and 2-3 inserts #d less than 50.

Dumb that he's on the checklist

Given a lot of collation issues and a packout problem or two in Topps releases this year, I wonder if there is another production error that Bichettes or redemptions for Bichette were not put in the packout hoppers and Topps didn't know about that and left him in the checklist they posted.

Rip it, otherwise you’ll never know the auto and parallel. Those could be even better. I had Robert o. The back of my pack and had to rip for the above mentioned reason. I honestly don’t remember now what was in that pack as I opened all three of my packs right away and mixed all the contents together.

Amazing how rare autos for Ryan, Trout, Soto, Acuna appear to be and these guys certainly didn't sign Blue, Gold or B&W parallels. Topps should really have to print this on the wrapper like they used to with Group A, B, C odds etc.



Agreed. I pulled a base Alonso auto and have now seen three Gold Alonso autos #d /10 pulled or on eBay but haven’t come across another base auto of his. It could be coalition or maybe I missed a few but it would be good to understand if some cards were SP or not and to what levels.

Mistake by Topps, shouldn't have a Rookie logo. There are usually a few errors every year with that stuff.

2019 Topps Finest Franmil Reyes had rookie logos but his rookie year was 2018.

I did however only get 1 double base card, so currently stand at 26 out of the 50 card base collected. Based on the earlier collation comments, I was pretty happy with that.
