Especially funny because he has RCs on 2 different teams within the same set- Topps Chrome base is Dodgers but autos are Twins. Pretty weird situation compared to a few other guys that have had one team in S1 and a different in Update or something like that

Edit to add- makes for an awkward situation as a team collector. I like Brusdar so I'll still pick up some of his Twins cards here and there, but it's weird for sure

I'm very interested in what they do with Trent Grisham this year. His S1 is as a Brewer but his Chrome and Opening Day are the exact same photo with it being photoshopped as a Padre. Not sure if they give him a new image in Update as a Padre

Speaking of Brusdar I pulled a superfractor 1/1 2018 Bowman Chrome of his almost two years ago. Anyone have idea of the value? I never got it graded but 1/1 and just been sitting in a toploader in a drawer straight from the pack.

Agreed. Just bought my 1st one last night.
His pricing over winter will be super dependent on performance through their playoff run. Not sure if I want to see a big breakout or not tbh. He’s toolsy af!

Just stocking up on base and refractors.

Blew half way thru my $1000 budget by picking up non auto reds, Bowman breaks, and some lots on Ebay.

Shooting for about $2 on average.

I love his arm but not sure about how they plan to use him in the future. At this point he seems as likely as any to succeed Jansen as closer. But if they decide to let him start next year he could be special too. I guess it will depend on the development of his off speed offerings.

Makes sense. I’m not adverse to buying up RPs as long as the intention is clear to make them a starter(like Corbin Burnes) but I haven’t heard any of that on Graterol.

It really all depends on Kershaw and whatever happens to Price I think. He could potentially take the Ross Stripling role and start sometimes? Almost like game 3 in SD, but that was strange and May came in late.
No matter what...Gonsolin is the starter to collect & hold. He is way under the radar vs Buehler 2018 prices.

Long history of PS/airbrush use at Topps. Lazy to me when you have two cards in the same series (Graterol Series 2) with different pictures.

The wall is the same, but the blurred fans don't match up. The undershirt on the flagship looks tighter, his hair looks different lengths. The angle also looks slightly different. There's also the white piping on one jersey and the other has a patch on the sleeve. I get that the companies can be lazy and use the same pictures a lot. But to take a photo from a string of them a few frames apart and do that much photoshopping seems like even a stretch for them. I'm sure there's 100's of frame by frame sets of pictures that look almost identical. I think it's the styling of the GQ that makes it look edited. I just can't give a company that much credit to go to those extremes to change a card, it's not like he changed teams. And it's not a Panini issue where they have to edit out all logos.

Buehler is the same age with vastly superior stats. I like Gonsolin, but there's just not enough there to say he's undervalued yet. Urias is still undervalued though given his performance this year.

I pulled a copy of the Topps Chrome and just thought the 00 added to the charm of this player. Seeing the other photoshopped versions use #48 intrigued me enough to click around on the idea a little.

I’ve been explaining that to my son during the playoffs. I’ve never seen someone appear to throw 100+ with such ease. It was the entire reason I picked up his cards. I believe one day he’ll be a closer for the Dodgers, or some other team lucky enough to scoop him up.
