Draisaitl also ended up getting the Lindsay as well.

Not saying that Makar wasn't a worthy Calder winner over Hughes, but I think Quinn did way more to improve the Canucks than Cale did to help the Avs.
Both these guys are simply incredible young players and I feel fortunate to have one on the home team.

Glad they didn't just hand the Norris to Carlson because he was the blue liner with the most points. Josi was probably the most valuable defenseman for his team.
Voting was obviously done before the layoffs, but was hoping MacKinnon would get some hardware instead of Draisaitl sweeping the Hart and Lindsay.
Makar and Q. Hughes are 1A and 1B. Makar may have received a slight edge from exposure by playing in the playoffs last year and playing for the better team this year.

Hellebuyck played for my Alma Mata UML. I think he’s the first player from that school to win a major award.
Go River Hawks.

This makes my point. Makar played for a much better team. Hughes took the Vancouver powerplay, breakout and transition game to a whole other level. Colorado didn't rely on Cale as much as Vancouver relied on Quinn.
Makar is still a huge talent and not undeserving of the hardware.
