I am working on a trade with someone for a Jim Palmer autographed Gold Rush helmet that he won in a break. I get that these would be hard to value, but I'm just curious to hear what others think. He valued it at $30 in trade, presumably because he doesn't want it. I'm happy to part with the 2020 RCs he wants. The helmet still has the box and the JSA cert, and this guy has excellent feedback on the board I frequent. He seems like a cool dude.

Just wondering if people know much about these, if they're legit, and maybe why it's valued so low. All I could think of was A) Orioles B) not a team he collects and C) pitcher on a batting helmet is kinda odd. I'm going to happily go through with the trade, just curious to hear the board's thoughts.

Probably just because it's hard to display and Jim Palmer's a very common HOF autograph. You can get his auto cards for $7.50 or so on COMC at any time.

You can get a Jim Palmer autographed mini helmet on E-bay for between $40 and $45.

I know when I got a baseball autographed by him at one of the National Sports Collectors Conventions, he was $35 for the autograph, $8 authentication, and then you figure $15 - $20 for a mini helmet in your case.

If it's legit, that's a good deal. Prople forget how dominant palmer really was. Threw 211 complete games and had an era under 3 in a 19 year career.
