View Full Version : 2001 Showcase Avant sizing issues?

Hi all. Hoping for some help/knowledge here. About 10 months ago I purchased a raw Pujols Showcase Avant RC. (I really like these cards for some reason).

Well back in March I sent with a large grading order and I just got the results today. Overall the results were fantastic - but the Avant RC came back N6 Min Size. I included a picture below of the card, and it didn’t seem “trimmed” to me but perhaps I just don’t know the tells. I bought this for PC so I wasn’t too concerned on grade, but would like an unaltered copy. Unfortunately it’s probably too late to to anything since it was nearly a year ago. I don’t have a pic of card back on hand as card is still with PSA, but any help would be appreciated!

I’m 95% sure they’re all small.

Thanks. Much appreciated. Does PSA use the N6 designation for cards they believe are trimmed as well or only if they are factory sizing issues. Again, nothing felt like it was altered to me, and frankly the card isn’t in fantastic shape so if someone did alter it, they did a poor job.

No clue on PSA but I was very involved in 2001 releases and remember these being smaller if you’d stack them in with the base.

Different card stock too correct?

Correct, they are thicker/framed.

Well I just got a 2001 Tomlinson rookie from football and it also is incredibly small. So it looks like it is not a trimming issue, but a production issue as stated. It seems there are SOME that are graded, so perhaps there are a few which are regular sized?
