I just graduated college a few weeks and and am settling down at my new job. Now having some income I'm looking to get back into collecting/buying/selling.

What's the best bang for the buck products right now? Which yields a decent ROI with a chance at some sick cards?

First order I'd like the best bang for my buck at around $250. Topps 5 Star looks nice but no thanks for $500.

Uhh, ROI this season is pretty crappy across the board. Your always better off with high end if you can afford it if u really want a decent ROI.

Yea, I've been buying about 2 boxes a week for the last month of certified, prime, contenders, etc and its been rough. Really wish I'd just saved up a 5* or bought singles instead or saved up for a case. Buying an odd box or two is really hit or miss. For all the great posts you see here where someone got lucky, rememeber there are thousands of other boxes being busted with Kafka auto's in them.

I'd recommend trying to buy the singles you really want.

Busting wax is so hit and miss like people have been saying, even the higher end wax is still hit and miss. I know you said you can't afford a bunch and it would suck if you spent $500 on a 5* and pulled crap. I would concentrate on a particular set (patch set or auto, or base), or start a PC of your favorite player. Whatever floats your boat, then save up for the time your going to get the itch to bust some wax and buy a nice box of higher end product or a variety of boxes. I know what it's like to re-enter the hobby after being out for a long time.
