Great article! Thanks for the post. I was thinking of starting a thread about tobacco cards. I have a few hockey themed tobacco cards, but none of NHA players.

Great article.

Thanks, Crease.

Although, not technically hockey cards, have you done much reading/research into Beehive hockey cards from the 30's-40's and on up?

The Parkhurst Gordie Howe RC, and a few other's, were actually copies taken of the actual photos of the Beehive hockey cards in case you didn't know?

I want some Hockey Picture Gum.

That was very well done!

Where are the images from?

As for those BeeHive photo cards, yes, I've known of the existance of those for a while now. I haven't done much "real" research on them - but I know what they are and they are really great pieces for any collector.

Thank you! Most of the images are from Google. I also included a picture of my C55 card that I own (Percy LeSuere) and included it in the article as well.

Tobacco cards are really cool. I've read up on the baseball versions as well, which have more of a richer history, in my opinion. It's quite fun!

That's awesome.

Obviously way before my time but I love reads on that era.

It's great to see the early superstars like Joe Malone, Art Ross, Newsy Lalonde and Cyclone Taylor get some shine.

They remind me of the Lajoie's, Cy's Mathewson's etc of baseball
