I'm a big Kings fan and curious if any NY Rangers fans have any thoughts on this player. I know there was controversy when he was in NY with playing time and line mate, but know little else about the former 7 overall pick. I'm thinking of buying his rookie cards low (Now) and hoping he pans out to be a good player.
Like many other young talented players, it could be a matter of being in the right situation. Any thoughts or comments would be appreciated.

Not a Rangers fan obviously but I asked about this kid thinking he may become available and was told skating is an issue and attitude isnt good (obviously). That being said his stuff isn't expensive so I would probably buy some stuff just in case he pans out. At worst your out a few bucks.

I thought I read recently that he’s been seriously considering going back to Sweden.

There is some talent there but he will never be a top end player. He could be a solid middle 6 player but I would guess that is his ceiling.
He needs a restart - things weren't good when he was the Rangers he finally opened up this year about what happened and I guess he was going through a lot of emotional stuff - wasn't sleeping - was having to take sleeping pills he just was battling stuff like that. He seems to have a better grasp on those things now and is enjoying hockey again - for his sake I hope he pans out - I just don't think he will be what you would normally expect from a top 10 pick.

Got it for dirt cheap, $13. I'll maybe be a couple more premium rookie and hope he become a solid player. Thanks for all the input.

Well all the drama with the Rangers makes a lot of sense now. Hopefully this kid matures a little as he gets older.

Definitely not his proudest moment, but with the way that game went, I could understand the frustration/immaturity. These are still kids wer'e talking about.

This is what makes me interested in his potential.

I wouldn't base anything on this considering the emotions involved with that game. A lot of other team mates took their medals off right away as well. 2nd best didn't cut it- these guys felt they should have gotten the Gold. The referees gift wrapped the game for Canada.

Liass appears too tired to write his own name.

Couldn't agree more.

Scouts compared him to Zetterberg. Smart 2 -way playmaker.
Rangers gave him 10 min a night as a 4th liner.
Didn't produce much which is no surprise but was very good defensively.
I think the Kings got a steal on this one. Time will tell...his YG's can be had for 3$ so not much risk buying a few.

I actually think the Rangers got a steal by getting a 2nd rounder for him. He can't keep up with the NHL pace and he was invisible when he was on the ice. I'm not sure what the scouts saw in him to be drafted 7th overall.
