Broke one hobby box that I picked up at the MLB store in NYC. Hit all the noted rookies except for Robert. One gold /2020, one advanced stats /300 and three rainbow foil. All average players, nothing of note. Relic was Kershaw and the box was saved by a very cool Jeter SSP. Pic below.

What a cool card. I am a yankees fan but haven't kept up with the hobby. What is the value on a card like this?

Really cool card. I love those SSP photo variations. Not sure how Jeter stacks up against Mattingly hobby-wise but the Mattingly SSP from 2019 sells for around $125, so solid hit.

Robert is an SP and SSP not base. Base u173 is Edwin Encarnacion. For anybody confused.

Yes - seems I caused some confusion with my initial post. Apologies, I had assumed Robert had a rookie debut. My bad.

For those wondering, yes, I will be putting the Jeter up for sale. Thanks, all.

No confusion here, just responding to the blanket statement that Robert was not in update, which is false.

Its not a blanket statement, he was clearly referring to base cards, not SP or SSP and Robert was not included.

I think Topps dropped the ball on Update this years. Player selection is pretty bad this year.

That quote could just mean that he didn't hit Robert in that particular box - do you hit every rookie in every box you open? You can't pretend to know what anyone who posted here was thinking, or what was implied, unless you are Carnac the Magnificent.

Imagine if Robert was your favorite player and you were thinking of getting some of this product just in the hopes of pulling his card, but didn't know that much about it, came here and read that he "wasn't in it", then didn't bother.

To avoid confusion, and for clarity's sake, it should have read "Robert isn't in update, other than SP/SSP." Quite simple.

Just trying to help out those who may not know as much as others in this thread apparently do.
