Does CARDSGUY know that you have spare cards? If not, all you have to do is say that POSTERGUY won't return them.

Otherwise, send him the $10 cards, block him, and move on.

Either way, block him when you're done.

Yeah told him POSTERGUY won't return until he gets the poster. I even offered to throw in extra cards for the inconvenience and paid for the shipping label.

However I can tell CARDSGUY is trying to be scummy and leave a negative. I don't care about the money, just the feedback.

Best way is to have them both return the items to you and you fix it. Otherwise it can create other issues.

The one who is being scummy save all his messages and report him when its all done. Sounds like your only solution may be to refund the one being patient and appologize unless you have a replacement the other not much you can do at theis point since he said he gave the items away he hurt his claim to anything. CARDSGUY needs to file a claim and return the poster which he cannot if he gave it away.

Got the wrong thing in the mail and gave to his son and son gave it away... wtf. My guess the buyer doesn’t want to waste the effort and money to ship it back. Did you offer to pay return shipping.

I would take the negative if it comes to that if ebay still allows you to comment on their comment so others can see your side. You made a mistake and are trying to make it right, the buyer is being a douche.

Normally I wouldn't mind but it's a new ebay account focused on buying/selling for the hobby. Feedback total is less than 30. :(

Thanks for everyone's responses so far.

Sold $10 worth of cards to CARDSGUY and a $50 poster to POSTERGUY.

Switched labels by mistake. Told both sides of my mistake and trying to resolve.

CARDSGUY that got the poster said his son gave the poster away and wants his cards.
POSTERGUY is cool, waiting to send out cards.

It's not about the money. I have a replacement for both sides. However CARDSGUY is kinda scummy. Can I avoid a negative and cancel his order?

My experience is is that if you cancel the order and refund him through Paypal or whatever he will not have the option to leave you a negative.

Also don't worry about the negative if received. You can reply to his feedback and say he scammed you. People will understand and take his neg with a grain of salt.

Not sure if you know how to use Twitter but if you do get the negative I would strongly recommend DMing the ebay support twitter account. I'm now 2/2 on getting negatives feedbacks removed when the buyer was being unreasonable (both times guy wanted a partial refund, I offered him a full refund and return, he denied and left negative feedback). As long as you have proof of cardyguys ridiculous story via ebay messages I'm confident they'll remove it for you.

Asking for a partial is a clear violation of Ebay rules asking for the item you purchased is not, even when a mistake is made. Depending on his wording you still might get it removed but its not as easy as a partial refund scammer.

The ability to leave a neg remains it is just not as simple to find.

Not everyone will play fair especially on Ebay, unfortunately.

Chalk it up as a loss and an experience. Send the card guy his replacement and offer either a refund or replacement to the Poster guy that’s If feedback is important to you.

Depends how much you value feedback. A red is a red and it sticks like a sore thumb to future potential buyers.

Yeah that's true but part of the return process is for the buyer to return the item, if they aren't able to do that then they're in violation of the return policy.

Usually the only buyers who worry about those are bad buyers themselves. Everytime I get a partial refund scammer or whatever that is the first thing they try to point to. Ebay does not hold negs against you and unless you are getting multiples for the same thing in a short period of time most buyers do not care.

It has been shown that having 100% can make you a target for certain types of scammers like the partial refund ones. If you sell on Ebay long enough you are going to get one or have transactions where you could get one.

We see it here usually when a guy is getting called out he brings up things like post count or Itrader like it is going to save them.

If they never file a claim then that will not protect you. Learned that the other day. Buyer refused to return item wanted full refund and to keep. He never opened a claim and negged me. 3 different Ebay reps said that since he choose not to open a claim then there is nothing they can do. He carefully worded everything to avoid committing feedback extortion he knew what he was doing.

That is why I mentioned earlier the one buyer needs to file a claim.

POSTERGUY did file a claim. I'm working on finding him a replacement. However CARDGUY is ducking and dodging correspondence.

Depends on the feedback count and what type of feedbacks are left. I’ve
purchased plenty from buyers with less than perfect reviews.

The fact that the Card Guy is refusing to ship an item back to the seller tells you a lot about his/her character and those are the type that has no qualms on leaving a false feedback, in this case I can see “Seller refused to ship. LIAR! Took my money! Avoid” or something like that.

Again, to some who are starting an Ebay sellers account and having a perfect feedback is critical, this transaction is not worth a negative feedback.

When I see feedback like that from buyer I ignore it as a buyer. In fact I have asked the seller for their ID so I can block them. Usually when they get emotional like that they are lying.

There is no guarantee he will not get a neg now even if he refunds at this point I would grind it out and hope he makes a mistake that makes it removable.

You're a more patient man than I am. I see a guy with a 95% feedback and there's a pattern of the seller mishandling a transaction, I will run away. As a matter of fact there's a triple immaculate Kobe auto on Ebay right now that I can't purchase simply because of his feedback.

My time is too important to deal with chargebacks and follow ups to get my money back when I don't receive my item.

Called ebay support and they told me to invoice him $40 on paypal. Then appeal the negative because everything is documented through ebay.

Kinda shows how clueless ebay is because there's no way to invoice a buyer from ebay without their contact and they stress maintaining all transactions on ebay.

Lol. That rep sounds clueless

Or just telling you what you want to hear. Doubt there would be anyway to make them pay for the poster. You cannot make someone pay for an unsolicited item you send them.

They should at least return it but there is some legal debate on that as well that goes back to unsolicited items

If we were talking hundreds of dollars small claims would be about your only possible resolution. On this amount its kind of a learning mistake

You are really at the buyers mercy.

what a piece of garbage. i remember making a trade with natsturner a few years ago. he sent me my card and another separate package as well, it was a peyton manning autographics or something, i let him know, and he goes whoops that was meant for a friend in texas. i said dont worry, just give me his address and ill send it out, i even paid for the postage. Nat has always been good to me in our dealings, the couple dollars shipping is nothing when you maintain good relationships to people, because im sure he would have done the same for me. this is a little bit different being ebay vs. a forum brethren, but scruples are scruples. This cardsguy needs some integrity...cue in tegrity randymarsh gif.

CONCLUSION:

Guy kept saying his son sent the poster to a friend in Arizona. I offered to pay the return and add value of cards exceeding the poster. No response then a dispute case opened up after thanksgiving. Offered to resolve. He left a negative. I called eBay and they closed the case in my favor same day and wiped the negative. They also told me refunding him was my choice now.
