I was just looking at the November deals and I remember putting in $300-$500 orders and having a fun time opening a few boxes or a case of blasters. Now I can get a blaster, no thank you. I pulled a 13-14 prizm blue auto giannis out of a clearance rack pack at Shopko for 7.99. give me a prizm rack pack that hasn't been searched for $20. Impossible unless your a nut dedicated to a tree. This hobby blow out your balls, nowadays.

The flip side is there is a better opportunity to make money the past few years. Its a tradeoff

Yeah, I imagine that's a sort of silver-lining in a way. If you built up a decent collection over previous years, all the new money is propping up larger premiums across the board so one's collection benefits in that sense. The unfortunate part is that a decent amount of collectors are being priced out, but I imagine those with a lot of knowledge/experience can find a way to make the $$$ work in their favor...

Yea although people got priced out of the hobby long ago. It goes back a long time when it was affordable for the normal person, let alone kids. Bygone era

I’ve gone back to older cards and other sports. Until it gets back to anything resembling fun, I’m out. Flippers have ruined it for the moment.

I have been a diehard vintage collector for 40 years. I used to hate the newer cards until I gave it a chance 4-5years ago. I still love vintage, but I have to admit, I really enjoy the current environment with the new cards. There is a gambling aspect that I enjoy. Almost buy all new cards now...and just sit on my vintage collection.
To each their own..its all fun

I miss Shopko, always had a good assortment of product because no one ever bought cards there.
