I have a pretty decent Jeter PC but I don't seem to be adding to it much these days(maybe 1 card since March). I have the 1990s grail type cards like Rubies, Credentials, Legacies, etc along with high grade refractors. If it were you, Would you rather keep a lock top 10 baseball player PC or add to, at today's prices, MJ, Kobe, Lebron, and my newer projects in Giannis, Luka, and Zion?
I could also pare it down to maybe keep my top 10 Jeter as an option.

I would keep Jeter. His 90s stuff is very underrated.

Dump Jeter - dudes an overrated stat accumilator wouldn't even be a hall of famer if he played for the Royals.

There now that we have those inevitable nonsense comments out of the way - I would keep Jeter and if you do decide to move any rare Jeters please please please let me know :).

I would keep Jeter, the Yankees aura will keep his stuff in demand. Mickey Mantle wasn't the best player in the 50s and 60s, but his stuff is always going to be the most expensive. Demand and popularity drives price more than on field performance.

If it was me, I'd keep top 10 stuff of Jeter, and chip away at picking up holy trinity of Kobe/Jordan/Bron. Maybe pick up a few of the young early career guys but I tend to stay away from that stuff because of the risks (seems way overvalued to me). If there is an eye toward future valuations, sure it's impossible to predict, but personally I'm much more bullish on growth of basketball than baseball.

I agree that while Jeter did have an amazing career he is kind of overrated, but he is very popular and the Mantle comp is pretty good, although imo I think Mantle was way better as a player.

I don't think baseball inserts will ever have the cache basketball inserts have, but I could be wrong. Looking around at pricing for Acuna, Soto, Mahomes, Luka, and others, I could make the argument that certain Kobe/Jordan/Lebron stuff is very undervalued. I would sell and put it into one of those three. Unless, of course, your Jeter PC is near and dear to your heart. In that case, keep 'em.

I guess I am way in the minority here, but I don't think of Jeter as a top 10 lock, unless you are talking about Yankees only players. Even then, given the franchise history, you can make an argument against him in that top 10 too. I would much rather have Lebron, MJ or Kobe, but I am a basketball guy over a baseball guy, so I am biased. I suppose my answer would be to just keep the Jeters you have and add more of him and the basketball guys as you go. Unless you need the money, why not just add to all of their collections, even if it is slow going? Quantity over quality.
