Hey guys. My friend and I are thinking about making a trade and I am having a really hard time determining market value on this card. I haven’t found anything really that similar in completed listings on eBay. I am the current owner of this card and my friend and I like to trade as close to market value as possible.
If anyone can provide any recent sales or is familiar with buying and selling of Mickey mantle cuts I would be very thankful for any information.

I would put the value around $500. That cut is u-g-l-y.

Dont get that cut most of his first and last letter of his signature are cut off.
You can buy a non cut signed for far less: and before we hear yes but it’s from topps the cut is from where ever topps bought it. Meaning you can go buy one yourself on eBay also.

Mickey Mantle signed a lot. That card is not a prestige example of a cut. Shame on Topps for using that cut in that card. The card itself is beautiful.
I would pass on this one.

Shame that the auto is cut off. I think the design is otherwise fantastic. Tough to value.

Personally, I'd pass on that as I can't stand cuts that don't fit in the window. I understand wanting it because there aren't too many Mantle cuts out there and you can't really be picky, especially if you have someone willing to trade and not want full cash. But for a card like that I'd rather have nothing than a Nickey Mantl.
People seemed to miss that the card is yours. Trade it!

They chopped up a 1981 Perez Steel postcard so it's not all that uncommon. Then they covered part of the signature with the border. To me it's only about a $200 card but I bet someone would pay $350. No that's not a reference to the site wide joke about "tree fiddy". Just one man's guess although I have seen some crazy high prices lately. jersey patch card I bought last year for $100 just sold for almost $300! So... who nows...

Trade it for whatever you can get, that cut is horrendous.

Thanks for all the comments. I appreciate them guys. The card is currently mine. My friend is a huge mantle fan and the big appealing factor to him is that it’s a Topps cut auto. We both estimated the trade value to be around $750-$1000. I know it’s not the best cut, but I wouldn’t let it go at this point for $500.
The trade we are negotiating is a Tatis bowman chrome base auto and a Derek jeter Museums collection Auto in exchange for the Mantle cut. Keep in mind that the Tatis bowman chrome auto is 50/50 ownership between the two of us as we split a couple boxes a while back and pack pulled it. I would post pictures but I’m having a really hard time posting any pictures on this site lately. My friend proposed the deal but I want us both to get a fair trade we feel happy about.
So the breakdown would look like:
Me: Full ownership of Tatis MV $1000 (+500)
Topps museum Jeter silver ink 2/15 MV $500
Friend: Mickey Mantle Cut

I would make that trade. Maybe you’re just too good of a friend to let him take that :D

If you’re ok with doing that to a friend and he’s ok with it so be it. However far nicer cuts have sold for far far far far less than the 1000 value.

If you can get $1,000 in trade for that, don't even think twice. Beautiful card in theory, horrific card in execution.

Having a hard time making out anything other than the horrible cut, honestly. What is the numerical grade Beckett assigned it? It looks like a Beckett sticker, anyway.
Either way I'd trade it, but your TV will ultimately depend on the grade as well.
If your friend loves Topps Mantle Cut Sigs then this sounds like a win-win deal

Those cards sell for about $200-$250 without the auto. Due to the look of that one, I’m guessing it would go for $400-$500 in an EBay auction. Just my opinion.

You win in that trade without a doubt.

Exactly this. He gets a Mantle, you get rid of that card. Buy yourself a nice Mantle auto, like one of the 1991 or 1992 Score ones.

I agree.
Years ago I posted a few blogs on various Mantle cuts from Topps and UD that either hid the "tle" or "Ma."

Not to be a contrarian, but Sterling is pretty popular. And sadly, a cutoff Mantle auto is pretty common on pack pulled Mantles. According to what I could find on Worthpoint, the last Sterling Mantle Auto to sell on eBay I could find was a BGS 9.5 that sold for $2,200 in 2018. That one was cutoff as bad, though the M in Mickey was cut off a little.
This actual card sold raw in 2013 for $815.
If I owned this card I would be inclined to trade it too. $1,000 may be a reasonable value.

This is a great example of a Mantle cut:
