Jeter Signature Rookies Auto

Hi All-



I really would like to add one of these to the collection, but don't want to add a fake. My question is, is anyone aware of any of these cards being backdoored/forged? I'm not talking about the Mail-In Promo but the "Authentic Signature" #35 hand-numbered to 8650. Is there any way of telling?

PSA graded versions can be had for under $500 if you want to go that route. Its also one of his early signature cards, I think they are harder to replicate than his bubbly later ones.

There are hundreds of forgeries of that card. I've have posted dozens of blogs on these. Here is one example.

I have also observed the ones numbered to "8650" forged.

I will look for one in my files.

I've observed a few of those that have been forged, but for the most part, if you don't know autographs, that particular card is your safest bet.

Thanks! I’m actually pretty decent with autos, just not great with early Jeters (waaay better with the older guys). I’ll PM you if I decide to make an offer on the one I’m watching, which I probably will. Ha

I've never seen a legitimate one with streaking. Most of the autos on these have dulled over time. I'm guessing this is an aftermarket auto with a sticker later fraudulently added, but I figured I'd run it by you.

Authentic.

It's the one early Jeter sig that I will never own because the color of the card hides the autograph.

$1,199.00 for that card!!! Geez.
