I was discounting him, but, Melo looks really good so far. He has the it factor Lonzo is missing. Seems grittier, more confident, and more aggressive. I think he is going to be pretty darn good.

it doesnt matter, the only cards he has out is not in pro uniform, whatever they're selling for now is too much, because a month or so from now when pro uniform cards come out these will be far and away an afterthought.

Not impressed at all. He has good court vision and can pass well. He is not going to be an elite scorer or defender. He has the same funky shot that all those Ball boys have. If the hobby is turning to "one good game and then this guy is a GOAT" then maybe Lamelo is for you. But night in and night out, don't expect much from him......

So how would you compare tonights performance of baby balls 15-6-3 to Luka's 27-15-7?
I'd say you're losing but keep up the hype LaVar. Maybe someday Baby Ball will have another game better than Luka's worst game ever.

I dont know man. Stats just aren't what they are used to be anymore. They are so inflated in this era for sure. I mean Russ Westbrook averaged a freaking triple double for several seasons and nobody gave a flying f. Why should it be any different with Luka? Because he's much younger? Because he's white? I just think stats are an inadequate barometer of greatness these days. Any superstar on a team that has a system built around them can put up stellar numbers. Maybe winning has become more of a priority and separates true greatness more so now than ever.

Who else is doing it right now if it's so easy? You named one other person, Westbrook. Who else? It's not just this era the 60's were the same. Do you know why Oscar Robertson had so many triple doubles? Or Wilt averaged so many points? Or countless others? It's not because they were so much better than players of today. It's the pace of the game. The 80's and 90's was the dead ball era of basketball. Slow paced half court offense. Back when them other guys played and scored all those points it was similar to today. Fast paced offense. Look it up sometime and compare possessions per game over the decades and you'll see what i'm talking about.
I loved the golden era of the mid late 80's and 90's as much as anyone but it's boring compared to today imo. I would much rather watch a faster paced game than a slow half court offense every play. It's almost like we've gone full circle back to the run and gun early days.
And if anything Luka plays more slowly than most people. It's almost like he is an 80's player in 2021. He definitely doesn't run and up and down the court for layups every play. He is much more methodical and plays at his own pace. You can't slow him down or speed him up, he dictates the pace of the game when he's on the court. That's what makes him so special. I don't know anyone else in the NBA that does that like Luka. He forces the entire other team and dictates the pace of the game to him and his speed.

You are overt with Luka bias. Luka is an exceptional player. He hinders his following by bitching about every touch foul that wasn't called. It's unbecoming for great players.

Yep i am biased about Luka. Still doesn't change anything i said. He does complain about a lot of fouls but a lot of them are real fouls that don't get called either. And i'd say no you're wrong it's common for great players nowadays. Maybe back in the 80's it wasn't but that was a different era. Today everyone complains. At least all the great players do. You just focus on Luka because everyone has their eyes glued to him every second he's on the court. LeBron James is the biggest crybaby in the league and gets a pass. LeBron was Luka's idol growing up. Where do you think he learned it from?

He learned it from the Euro league. Please don't deny that the European players are the biggest bitches in the league.
LeBron's whining is pathetic too.
I don't get to watch many Mavs games.. but every time I do Luka has a look on his face like he just smelled a rotten egg fart. And the ref is telling him he is sick of his bitching.

Boo hoo! Maybe he should shave his eyebrows and that would give him more street cred with the refs. Make him look more gangsta and tough you know?
Let's get back to the topic of how LaMelo is a superior player to Luka. That's why this thread was created after all.

So what. His demeanor, like that of all players, impacts his performance. If you think a persons metal makeup doesn't impact odds of success, I don't know what to tell you. You must be all in on KPJ.
