Received the card back from BGS and they actually did not note it as altered but rather said the Auto was "questionable authenticity" and sent it back ungraded (charged me anyway).
This is a freaking panini auto card.. what the heck????

I bought a select Green Luka rookie Auto 62/99 from him in August 2019. Coming back from BGS with no grade so after researching where it came from I found the old transaction and found this guy has been brought up here before.

I wanted this card to be on the public record if I ever sell it so that if they crack it open, people will have some way to research the card history.

Is there any good way to report this to ebay or someplace so this guy gets called out? Fortunately, I think this card is still worth way more even altered than I paid for it!

I would like your thoughts on the ethicacy of selling this slabbed and 'altered'. I am really not sure of what the hobby kosher thing to do with this card is. Given that I am trying to work my way toward doing cards as a living, I dont want to do anything that would hurt that. Thanks

Selling it slabbed as Authentic Altered is an honest way to sell it.

I received this card back from BGS and instead of being denied a grade for being altered as I had assumed, it is because they said the Auto was Questionable Authenticity...
This being an actual autographed card guaruntees by panini, I just dont get this at all...
Please let the record know this card is NOT altered and the seller referenced in the original post should not have been accused of alteration, although they had actually been busted for that before which may have been someone before them...
Also, when/if i sell this, it will not be as altered...

And yes I was wrong to make the altered assumption before I received the package. I should have waited and seen for sure before accusing someone of trimming. Definitely will learn from that.

That sucks, but i will say it doesn't look like most of his autos, the luka's mom signed his cards folks will have a field day, I'm sure. I do know for one though my signature changes a fair amount any time I sign for things, and when you're signing a ton its not gonna always be the same. The only other theory is the auto was streaky and the seller tried to alcohol wipe it down and re sign it himself which would be a completely moronic move, but we've seen people do it before on here. Sorry this happened man, this is super $hitty.

Even the very tops of the loops show he wasnt pressing as hard with the pen which is a telltale feature of his authentic autos. Guess it's off to PSA...

This is incredible. Have you found any images of this card in prior listings to compare the signature. Would be crazy to think that someone would wipe it down. Maybe PSA? lol

I could only find one auto (signed on a basketball) where the signature started to the RIGHT of the first L loop. All the other autos I could find (old, new, in-person, from Panini, or questionably signed by mom) had the signature starting from the LEFT side of the first L loop, or touching the loop. Another way of putting it is that the OP's card does NOT have a complete loop, it is open on the bottom.

That may be what BGS found unusual for this card's auto.

I mean I don’t know, I have a buddy who was a Major League Pitcher in the early 2000’s and had some Autos in 2001 Topps. I know for a fact that his wife signed his name on some of them, so a questionable Auto from a Certified Auto card isn’t that far fetched

Am certainly not an expert, just trying to figure out what BGS saw, or didn’t see, on the OP’s card.

I have to say that the analysis by some on the original Luka auto thread was compelling, to say the least.

I have a job where I used to have to sign at least 50 times a day. I can tell you that my signature varies, but it typically and irreversibly gets worse. It got worse the more things I signed during the day, it has also gotten worse through the years.
