Anybody else get turned off by the huge print run of Prizm?

Prizm looks great but they’re so common now I don’t see much appeal in them. Like the Zion Prizm RC is sweet looking but there’s just so many. I get the value in early prizm. Don’t mean to offend anybody that likes Prizm, just sharing my opinion. Wanted to see if anybody else feels the same way.

Very picky when it comes to Prizms, the countless parallels also doesn't help. Only thing that really interests me are Gold/Tiger Prizm parallels. Pulsars are cool but Panini can't also help but flood the market with it.

They print so much because left/right and top/bottom centering is terrible.

Im mostly turned of by the flood of returns on eBay for any player that hasnt held value from 3 weeks ago or buyers not getting raw cards that they cant send to PSA and get guaranteed 10s. I am just about done with this hobby.

Yea it sucks that it’s for sale everywhere and no one wants anymore. They printed so much everyone has plenty and don’t even want anymore.

The design gets worse and worse every year. Its so incredibly worn out I'm baffled as to why more haven't given it the cold shoulder. Its a card for the mindless masses...

I agree with a lot of this. The design was never great, and I've never even seen anyone who collects/flips/whatever Prizm argue that it is. It's just iconic... because it's iconic... or something.

It filled the void left by Topps Chrome of a product available at both hobby and retail. There are only so many options, though, and Prizm definitely has an edge over Optic in terms of rookie design. Revolution is a bit too niche for the masses. Select has the tiered cards, so there's no true rookie to chase. Mosaic is too new and may be even worse with the parallels than Prizm is.

A strong argument could be made that smart money invested into Prizm, flipped it, and then put that $$$ into the other cards you speak of. There's definitely money to be made with Prizm. If I'm buying Prizm on my bankroll, I'm missing out on other cards that I may never have an opportunity to acquire.

I got lost with all of the parallels and don't know which once is which is rarer. And then there's also the serialized version??? Wth. I just ignored it. After pulling a Luka RC pink pulsar; I felt like pulling a topps chrome refractor. Then, I realized my card is very common.
