I Busted My 5th Box Of A&g! Still Crap!

Well last night I busted my fifth and probably final box of A&G 2008. In my five boxes I have yet to pull one single auto. I have yet to put together 1 master set. Although I have over 1,000 base cards, I am still 12 cards short of a master set. I did however complete the US flags set last night. my 2 "PULLS" Bobby Abreau bat card, and curtis graderson jersey! On my first 2 boxes I was pulling 4 hits, and on the last 3 only 2....if you want to call them hits! The best card I have pulled in 5 boxes was an A Rod bat relic, or a Todd Clever relic. I mean come on! For some reason I am still considering one more box. I dont know. Its very frusterating. NO RIP CARDS, NO AUTOS, NO WOOD, NO BAZOOKA! I mean you would think I am due for something. I just needed to vent. I cant belive I am still chasing a set!

better idea: buy what you need for your set individually off ebay or other people here instead of wasting your money on "crap" boxes.

This is why cards are worse than gambling. You always think that the next pack or box will have the big hit in it and you almost always get let down. So instead of just cutting your losses you move to the next product pissed that you didn't get a big hit and start over again.

Amen to that ifish. lol. I tend to go through a box and start pulling nothing and keep thinking...next pack...next pack. Before I know it, I have bought the whole box and rarely does it happen that it was worth buying the whole box.

I bought a box of A&G this year and while I can't say I had any huge hits, I at least got 5 relic cards out of it.

I feel your pain marc. but like capt/others have said, if you're out to make a set -you're ALWAYS better off buying what you need than trying to bust for it because if you don't you'll get distracted and caught up in the rip/flip mode IMO. Most do this and sooner than not-this alone will have you refinancing your house just to fuel the habit... just my 2cents!

I also find that the more boxes you buy at once the better odds you will have at getting the case hit. I never buy less than three boxes at a time and prefer to purchase half cases when building sets. More times than not I get the case hit that way. And it is always far cheaper to hit up sportslots and finish a set than buying more boxes.

Many times the parallel minis are the best cards, how did you do there?
