I think people are sleeping on the fleer authentix /1250 and /250. Still very affordable compared to most for a numbered Rc. I also think there cool but very very difficult grades. A 6 is fine in that card.

Interesting card, but not a fan of that one. I have been looking. I like the Upper Deck option for sure. The picture choice is key for me, not necessarily the price.

I did check out the pristine. Also I have a few LBJ rookies, including 2 PSA 10 Bazooka Comic Cards, but want to add a visually appealing card for the PC.

Lebron has so many nice Rookies. I am trying to stack 100 psa graded rooks in the next 24 months. Most will be bought raw and sent off for grading. Here is what I have so far grades. Two more should "pop" soon and I have around 7 more to send in.

Upper Deck has always been a favorite of mine. I find it interesting come to think of it that the Topps brand outshines the upper deck brand since LBJ was an upper deck ex ludicrous. The Topps Chrome is the overall best of his base rookies, but there are a few others that are sweet.

Well I have now turned my PSA 10 Topps update chrome Mookie Betts into the UD LeBron and this, with a couple hundred left over. Always liked this card.

Raw. I have a PSA 9 Victory. The foil is a killer. Getting a gem is tough. In my mind anything under 30% gem rate is a winner. Wow! The victory only has 37 of 396.

Truth. Nearly impossible. 10 percent gem rate is wild.


I believe that cards with low pop counts will bridge the gap between flagship rcs with high pops in 10 years. It wont be even... or even close to it. But the days of buying a lebron james rookie that has a population of under 100 for under 5k are numbered... in my humble opinion.

I bought these two cards as novelties to add to my collection. The 2002 Rookie Review was $5 shipped when I bought it. A few recent sales of the 2002 magazine card are over $100. This hobby is crazy right now. The SIFK in higher grades is going for ridiculous prices compared to what they used to be. I'm not complaining though, just amazed that these cards are selling for what they are. Magazine cards.

That is cool that you picked up an uncut sheet. Lebron was such a beast in High School (not to mention the NBA). I still have VHS tapes of his High School games that aired on TV. It's awesome how far he has come, and watching his whole career since he was just a kid.

Topps probably is helped by Topps chrome. Based on what I remember base LeBron was not 1:7 boxes in Topps. It might take awhile but I can see 301s teaching 5 figures.

I personally like the trio rookie from Tradition with Melo and Wade. Seems like it will be an iconic card long term once all three are in the HOF. I pulled this crystal version /50 when the product came out when I was 8, happy to have held onto it this long.

Thanks. Yes I know the Topps and Topps chrome are the big dogs, but those 3 have huge potential. 301 might soon cross 10K in PSA 10. The others might take longer. Those 3 will all be in PSA slabs regardless to pass down.

The Black Diamond 4 stars were 1 per box I think and LeBron was tough. Very condition sensitive.

Well the last black and white raw just went for $805. Man people are finally catching on to LeBron rookie cards beyond Topps brands.

Just amazing looking cards from the 2nd highest end set that was produced that year. I see the LeBron /250 BGS 9.5 10 is already at over $100k. Considering what the Topps Chromes get (The Ultimate looks so much nicer and is extremely limited) this card has an unlimited ceiling imo.

I don’t consider cards high end or low end based on price. I base it off the product. Upper Deck Exclusives is a low end product. In my opinion, that’s how it should be based. If not, then you run into the issue of what is high end and low end and to who. Like $100 might be mid-tier to some collectors, but most would say it’s low end. However, there’s no arguing Upper Decl Exclusives is low end.

Buying raw can be a crap shoot but when you luck out and find a “never grade” collector it can work out perfect.

I really miss my initial collection because I had a TON of bron rookies. I regrettably sold them all when I got out of collecting in 2011. At least I've been able to get some of them back. I know have or have coming in

The BD is such a great card. I never really knew it existed and came across it one day in a random search and immediately put it on my list. Try to find a raw if you have to. I bought one with a "corner issue" and when I got it in hand it was so miniscule that I'm surprised the guy even mentioned it.

In the end I'm looking at lebron key RCs the same way I look at Jordan anything. It's a blue chip, will always have value and they're worth it at damn near every price point. The only thing that stops me from buying more is being a complete and total cheap ass. And don't worry if you can't afford 9's or 10's. Very few people can, so the rest of us normal people will create the market for the leftovers.

In the end I'm looking at lebron key RCs the same way I look at Jordan anything. It's a blue chip, will always have value and they're worth it at damn near every price point. The only thing that stops me from buying more is being a complete and total cheap ass. And don't worry if you can't afford 9's or 10's. Very few people can, so the rest of us normal people will create the market for the leftovers.

This is my biggest miss so far. I was going hard at both this and the Fleer for around $600-700 in the last few months and missed a few of these over a $50 price difference. I'm an idiot.

This is my current collection, don’t know why got a 7 on the topps one. I bought the UD 2003 star rookie set at $30 bucks back in 2005, not a great investment until last year though.

Picked one up some time back. Big fan of it, think you are right though don't doubt some group will try some pump scheme on it. Has a lot going for it but it's common enough that manipulating prices prob wouldn't be too hard.

Agreed, but considering most of them are probably not gem quality (17/71 gem rate) tells you a lot. They are probably in common boxes as we speak.
