Tiger Woods 2001 Sp Rookie Autograph numbered to /900 in PSA 10/10 has gone from 38K in November to 61K in December to now $87,330K in January. Sold on Goldin last night. Didn't make the catalog, and didn't even have a picture uploaded on the site for the first few days.

I decided to move it as a test run of which consignment service I would use to move pieces of my collection moving forward. I sent a somewhat equal a amount of card value to PWCC and to Goldin to see who would do a better job. So far, I'd give my experience with PWCC an A+. We'll see how this Goldin auction goes tonight. Afterwards, I think I'll do a write up of my experience on my flip thread.

I'm equally split between it hitting the reserve and selling or not and me getting it back at this point. Let's see how tonight goes.

Yea I watched it live too. He breaks every where, and don’t blame him with some of the hits he’s got. Did it sell at 190k or was it pulled? Thought today was the last day.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't Goldin require the bidders to actually have the money available? If you send these high-end items to PWCC and they list on eBay don't you run the risk of a bunch of people with no money bid $1M just to mess with it?

The jersey sold for double the purchase price - that anybody could have bought at the time if they wanted/had the money. Madness.

It ended at 22 which didn't reach the reserve? I didn't even realize they had reserves. From my experience following their auctions / buying from them they get amazing numbers on blue chip PSA graded RC, exquisite cards, rare wax and super high end but aren't worth the extra cost on a lot of the more modern stuff that's going to sell for under 50.

That's the thing... and I don't know how much I want to get into it publicly at this moment, but you can see a clear difference in the stuff that they put their marketing muscle behind and stuff that they 'just list'.

I'll be getting my card shipped back to me after it didn't get reserve that they advised to put it at.

I don't have any hard feelings on the deal.. nothing lost on my end. Nobody getting screwed here. But this being a card that just doesn't sell itself like the more mainstream stuff, it probably needs more attention and promoting to get in front of the right buyers. Goldin's business model seems to be really pushing the $100k+ stuff, and that's fine.
