It’s not a Jordan question don’t get too excited!

Alright so my question is about condition and how PSA handles the grading. I finally got around to acquiring this after Josh had to go and mention it on his psa express reveal haha! I got the card in hand and am super excited but I’m debating about cracking and sending to PSA. The card looks pretty clean to me - off center top/bottom and there are two flaws that I have included close ups of - am I overthinking this? Would you just keep as is? Or would you send to psa and hope to pull an 8?

It's the exact same card regardless of what company "grades" it. Just leave it as it is.

Good point! I am so excited to finally have the card! I really think that Hakeem is one of the most underrated players all time.

PSA will hammer it for the stain on the back.

Thank you for the input - that is what I figured but I had never graded vintage myself so wasn't positive.

Leave it. Grade will go down with PSA especillay with the stain.

Yup. I would be concerned about getting an 8 with the ST qualifier which in registry sets would be equivalent to a 6.

It’s over 30 years old and has the problems that are consistent with vintage cards such as staining etc that I am not familiar with from a grading perspective.

Also from my view it’s older than I am it’s vintage and I was born in 87 hence vintage.

I don't think that would even get a 7 from PSA. That stain and overall appearance is not NM-MT. Keep it as is.

People worship PSA around here. The stain in the upper left is on ALL Hakeems that I have seen. It is a printing defect present on all copies. The small defect towards the bottom right I believe is also a print defect. The stain on the back is the only glaring flaw I can see. Might get a PSA 8, but why bother? Leave it as is.
