With the season been backed out because of last year and Covid, when is it really coming out? Heard so many different stories...some say Mid March, others say late March, others say early April? Anyone know when it's slated to come out?? :coffee:

It doesn’t matter. The distributors won’t release more than 5% a month and retail will be hijacked coming out of the factory.

2/24 Donruss
3/3 Revolution
3/10 Absolute
I would assume it won't be any earlier than the 17th with what is already scheduled now, end of March or early April would be my guess, granted last year Prizm came out before Donruss and Revolution. Just don't see two drops on the same week happening.

I heard "early Feb" for a very long time, but here we are
Very strange that they haven't put out a release date, or is this how it was last year?

Panini still designing more 2019 products to cash in on, 2020 Prizm is not even designed yet.

I think this year will also feature Prism Premium Stockx, and soon after that we'll see Prism Hoops Hybrid Gaming Artist Proof parallels in white sparkle packs (limit 50 per Panini customer).

I use to get excited for a release like Prizm. But that was when I knew that I had a chance to either purchase a hobby box or get the retail version in Target or Walmart.
Now, I don't even think about it as I can't imagine how much a hobby box will cost this year when Hoops is going for over $400 and I know that I don't have snowball chance in hell of seeing any retail anywhere.

Folks will be sitting outside Walmart/Target like black friday when this hits.
I just witnessed this madness. I went to Target a couple days ago and saw the employee putting out Baseball Chrome/Football something. I went to get a couple things...came back 10 minutes later and it was GONE. I guess drying up the inventory is another method of manipulating the market.

Yeah, I ran into my first case of having to "wait" while a product was being put on the shelf.
Basically, I went to Target randomly a few weeks ago just to see if they happened to have anything on the shelf. I go there once every 2-3 weeks to see if I get lucky, and usually nothing is there.
This time however, I walk in as the woman just started stocking. I wasn't expecting anything big and just tried small talking her, but she seemed very annoyed and put off by me, so I let her be. A minute or two later, the manager comes by and actually tells me I need to wait outside of the aisle until she's done stocking. I was like, "No problem." Now, I'm actually thinking she might have something decent to put out.
Anyways, it was taking her a while, and she was just putting out some random Magic the Gathering or Pokemon stuff that I have no clue about. So I decided to walk to the electronic section because I started feeling weird just standing around there waiting (essentially, I felt weird because of what we always make fun of on here).
I come back about 10 minutes later, and there's two younger, probably mid 20s dudes waiting. They're actually waiting on Pokemon stuff only, they were friendly and cool guys. They didn't know or care about sports cards. So we were having fun and chatting for a few minutes while the stock lady is finishing. Out of the corner of my eye, I see Hoops Premium being displayed. I'm thinking to myself, "Holy crap, it actually exists!! My lucky day!"
As she's finishing, a lady (attractive as well), probably late-30s/early-40s along with her teenage daughter come walking through the aisle. The manager is telling them they have to wait and that "That man over there is first." So I'm wiping my brow, phew, there's at least some order here.
The stocking lady finishes, and me and Pokemon bros thank her and give her graciousness. The manager is giving the go ahead to come on through. So I walk straight over to the Hoops Premium, and whaddya know, early-40s attractive lady is basically hovering right next to me. I start kinda hemming and hawing like, "Well, I guess I might buy this here hoops box, I mean, why not...." She's got this serious look on her face, and I already see where this is going.
She actually asks me first, "So do you rip this or resell?" I process this very fast and basically gauge her as knowing what's up. I was honest with her and said I'm probably going to rip most of what I buy. We small talk real quick and she says her son likes to open boxes. I ask who's his favorite player, Zion or Ja? She laughs and says....Zion (I think, hard to remember).
So at this point, regardless if she's genuine or not, I wasn't going to be greedy. I say, "Hey, want to split all of this?" I just cut right to the chase, because I could tell she obviously wasn't there to just grab one little ole box for Billy to rip. She was really cool about it and I split the 8 blasters with her, we got 4 a piece.
All in all, I was fine with what happened, but it was just funny to me how I was there for probably 20-25 minutes waiting before she got there right as stock-lady finishes, but she comes hovering over like, "Hey, this is gonna be mine." The manager was complimentary too saying he was surprised I offered to split and that he's seen much worse situations where people have gotten into arguments. I suppose that's why they were telling us to stay out of the aisle and why the stock-lady was perturbed by my presence.
Long story short, I've gone through one of the waiting while stocking situations, and it's real out there. Good luck getting any basketball at all this year.

you don't feed her any names. You're supposed to challenge her to come up with a name to see if she's full of crap or not.

Yeah....in hindsight I was thinking the same thing, but in the moment I was trying to be nice. I don't know, it was just awkward......and she had beautiful eyes, haha.

for years i have gotten some prizm basketball boxes....2020-21 seem to already be jacked up in pricing...seems even the price of a blaster is the same price as one hobby pack! wow. guess the fix is in! not sure i will continue buying prizm since the price seems to have gone crazy.
