Nice mail day today. I've never been much of a heavy hitter and had no Bryant rookies, but several people have mentioned this card and it was on my radar. When it popped up as a "Best Offer" card, I made an impulse offer that I didn't think would be accepted. When it was accepted the next day, I thought I may have overpaid.

Maybe not, as it's gone up probably close to 50% in the week it took to get to me in the mail.

You see hundreds, and I mean hundreds, of the regular Topps issues on eBay, but these are seen quite a bit less. From what I understand, one of these parallels was inserted into every 3 packs, so a NBA at 50 Bryant is a 1:660 pack pull while a base Kobe is a 1:20 pack pull. With them also being more condition sensitive, it seems like a much better "hold" card to me. The heavy greening of the Chrome issues I think also helps it a bit. At any rate, I'm thrilled with it, and hadn't seen a thread devoted specifically to it.

If you've got one, post it up.

Great pick-up, congrats! Of the 3 variants, this is the one I'd want! Best upside imo without greening risks and pop issues of the regular base.

Nice card, it's only a 110 card set per series so odds are actually 1:330 series 2 packs. You can't count the series one cards in your odds because they're mutually exclusive.

Underrated compared to the base.:)!

There are 110 cards in series 2 so the odds are 1:330 packs for the parallel and about 1:10 packs for a base.

Great card that doesn't have the greening issues of the Chrome. Nice to see it finally geting some love. I have a BGS 9 of it as well. :)!

Appreciate the education here. However, the ratio is the same in that the Kobe 50 is 33 times tougher to pull than the base. They really are undervalued if you think of it that way. If I was a rich man I'd be buying these up like crazy.

As far as the wax, a 1:10 shot at a Kobe is terrific odds. That's even better odds than the 1:11 of pulling a 86 Fleer Jordan.

Here's mine. My plan was to upgrade at some point but I'd be more than happy with this being the PC one if that doesn't happen.

I was talking about this card last and made a thread about me buying this card for $100 . I stated all the various reasons. The Topps Chrome holders and Kobe collectors to crap downplay and called me a idiot SMH.

There are no BGS 10’s, and only (17) 9.5’s have a 10 centering, https://www.instagram.com/p/CK4zbNaH_o5/

I had 5 of these. Two PSA 8s, a PSA 9, a BGS 8.5, and a BGS 9. Unfortunately I sold all but the BGS 8.5 early January when they surpassed previous summer 2020 highs cause I wasn't sure how much higher they could go. The near 50% dip between Sep to Nov also scared me. Yea big mistake.
