Thoughts on Topps Chrome

How do you think the 17/18/19 Topps Chrome sets will be viewed going forward with Panini taking over?

2017 Chrome should go down as 3rd most valuable set over past 15 years with only 2006 Pride FC and 2009 Topps Round 1 more expensive on average. I think 2011 Finest will gain more value in time with 1st Refractors, X-Fractors, and Atomic Refractors. Beckett has really screwed things over for MMA with the prices making no sense whatsoever and finally the marketplace is just saying screw what Beckett says because they are clueless with not only values but not even knowing where rookies actually are which just proves how out to lunch they really are. Round 1 boxes went up 700% in value without Beckett even raising base or insert cards in prices and they are still way behind. They never even noticed for years and until today even that 2006 A&G Couture and A&G Bruce Lee had huge value. OK, I'll stop ranting but the 1st year UFC Prizm will be monster and could wind up making top 3-4 sets in terms of overall value.

I would agree with this. 2017 TC will always be a pursuable set. But, I think when UFC Prizm comes out, everyone is going to be focusing on that product. Topps didn't do enough with UFC cards IMO. I heard Panini is going to be making 4 products in the first year of having the rights. 1st year UFC Prizm is going to be a monster .

Topps didnt do the best job but they actually released too much product early on. Extra releases is not really the issue... its the quality of the cards, unique offerings and better autos etc. Maybe with more collectors that changes.

Will people care if the RC fighters aren't there yet though?

The growth in value of Topps sets is going crazy, I don't see that declining anytime soon.

Will shiny and far too many parallels translate over to the mma market? Time will tell I guess.

2011 Leaf METAL MMA !!! VERY SHINY !!!!OOOOH. ALL cards are AUTOGRAPHED yes EVERY CARD in the set & there are no stupid #/4556, #/3000, #/2876, #/1015, #/999, #/769 #/546, #/420 #/342, #/212, #/99, DUMB versions... If they are #'d they all are #/199 or LESS. and you get the point. There are RC 1st autos of fighters that are legends that have never fought in the UFC. Super Low print run also! ITS also named METAL!!! nuff said.

So if it goes by shiniest card then 2011 Leaf METAL MMA wins HANDS DOWN!! They have BEEN CROWNED HERE 1st!! the reigning CHAMPS of the SHINY! OOOHHH!
