Apologies, as I wasnt 100% sure where to put this thread. So I've been exploring using PWCC vault and was wondering about selling a card in the vault outside of PWCC auction/listing. It seems you can submit a fulfillment request and have them ship the buyer directly. For example:
List a card for sale that is in your PWCC vault, request for card to be shipped from PWCC, provide buyer with tracking #.
Since having an eBay store caps your final value fee at 250/350 wouldn't it be more beneficial this way to sell your cards valued over 2500/35000 then having PWCC consign and charge a 8-10% fee? I'm assuming there is more protection and insurance offered when paying that fee and having them sell for you.
Have been trying to explore some options for my higher-end cards lately and was hoping to get some insight into the situation. Has anyone else explored these options?

capped final value fee. you answered your own q. Do the math, over 5k?

I understand the math.... but it's not just about that. I wanted to maybe explore some experiences and pros/cons of having them sell for you vs using them as a storing and shipping service. I feel like being so disconnected from your product and it's shipping process could have some drawbacks if an issue were to arise. Would it be difficult to file a claim? How are fraudulent buyers handled? Returns? I'm assuming when you use them to sell directly some of this risk is eliminated. Returns, for example, aren't a concern as PWCC would keep the card and your payout locked if they sold it directly.

Great questions. The last sentence summarizes why using them to sell has benefits.

I've been sending some cards (that I know I'm just going to flip at some point)...straight to PWCC when I purchase them. I have no reason to hold them in my hands. Build up a little "fun" money account when I decide to sell those certain cards. It can take 2 weeks to get your money after a card is purchased...but overall, I've been really happy with it. Just a different way to buy, sell, hold, flip, etc.

Great, thanks for the input. So you have been having them sell for then I assume? It just seems like such a tough situation when you have, lets say, a $10,000 card to sell. You can save yourself $450-550 in fees by selling yourself and having them ship. But then what kind of risks are you opening the door to if you have them ship? I was kind of hoping to encounter someone who has gone this route, but then had an issue. Would like to see how it was handled on PWCC's end

As a seller you have no risk using PWCC. The only potential issue would just be a non paying buyer and it would get relisted. I’ve had great success selling from the vault at much higher prices than I expected.

I think, but am not certain, there are clientele that like purchasing directly from PWCC.

This seems to be the case with a lot of the items they sell. I do not believe it is due to shill bidding either.

For those considering PWCC Vault.
Use 3Free as the promo code and you get 3 free submissions. Unlimited amount of cards. Everything is free... Curation fee and insurance... Forever!!
Only pay when you sell. Must be post marked by March 31st.
Guess they are trying to build inventory.
Must be graded cards.

And you were having them directly sell/list for you ? And did you do auction or bin?

Apologies, I'm going to take a bit of a turn here, but I'm having trouble searching for this concept. Please RTFM link me to another thread if it's obvious..
What is the conventional wisdom around here on submitting your vault card as part of a much larger, scheduled Auction vs an on-demand, ad-hoc vault auction? For example, your card would be listed on a scheduled "Basketball Night" or whatever like PWCC hosts, and looks like COMC is following their lead.
As a Vault seller, you have the ability to kick off an on-demand auction, or you can go and list with everyone else in their Monthlies. I'm comparing, in this case, to like PWCC_Vault vs PWCC_Auctions, not comparing to listing yourself. I am seeing banner ads for COMCC starting the same thing
Has the economics of this been discussed, and which is more favorable to sales prices? Obviously the upside is way more eyes on your product, but man....sometimes there are like 10+ identical cards closing within minutes. You would need a LOT of eyes to make up for that.

I've sold less than 10 cards on PWCC and I've had one non-paying bidder and two returns.
I received two emails last night (3/25) that my cards from a 2/8 auction have been returned and they will be invoicing me to pay them back.
In selling on my own on eBay over the years I've only had one return and that was because there was severe chipping on the card (which I disclosed) but I allowed him to return anyways. I've had a few non-payers, but the rate of PWCC non-payers is much, much higher.

I am an active buyer/seller with PWCC. So much so that I got called out of the blue a month ago from someone in their concierge service (which is not advertised). Apparently they like me! lol
TBH with the crazy stuff going on in the market I'm taking a step back and just watching right now. Part of this is due to the fact just like COMC, that PWCC is BEHIND and they do take a bit of time to get things into their vault. I've never had an issue but you do need thick skin and patience to see your Vault items fully curated. That is a big reason why I'm not buying as much now. I'm waiting for them to "catch up" so to speak.
As far as auctions go, there is ZERO risk on your part. You are given a personal portal where you see your auction items, your Vault items, and all kinds of things like accounting and stuff I never use like investing, loans etc.... As long as you postmark your items in time for the next auction, they will get curated and listed. It seems auctions have priority over the Vault in terms of speed.
ZERO risk. I've sold items EVERY month for the past 2 years. I usually have very few non payers but in the past few months I did have a couple. Not bad for 2 years of selling on PWCC. For non payers: They simply don't pay you for those items and list them in the next auction. You get paid a month later than you had thought you would.
Payments for auctions are VERY timely each month, usually the middle of the month and you can keep funds on account, have a check sent, or do a simple ACH deposit. All controlled by you through their portal.
My best advice is to write down everything you send and once you see it listed, you are all set.
Patience is a virtue with them just like COMC and the Post Office. The world has changed!
Peace and hope that helped. Feel free to PM me for further questions about PWCC.
Mike
PS When I say ZERO risk, I am taking about experience. We all know the rumors out there so anything could happen in the future and there is always risk of trouble with any company. I have slowed down but have seen nothing other than Vaut loading times in their operations that would be troubling.

I'm exiting the hobby and using their Vault to sell some high value items that I don't feel comfortable selling on ebay given how easy it is for unscrupulous buyers to game the system, so peace of mind for me to use them as they handle it all from listing to fultillment.
PWCC is slow in curating items into the vault. My USPS registered package to them arrived on Thursday March 4th, was acknowledged received by them on late on the evening of Sunday March 7th, and as of today, March 26th...three weeks later...the items are still not curated. Six ungraded cards total in this first batch to them and they do say in the acknowledgment email that curation for ungraded is around 15 business days and potentially up to 20.
Their website at the time, when looking over their breakdown of the vault curation process, was claiming curation within a couple days from time received and made no distinction of a time difference for graded vs ungraded. I think they have since removed that info.
As someone mentioned in an earlier post, you need to have patience. I'm sure they are all working as hard as they can and not much else you can do but wait.

Sorry to ask a (maybe) dumb question, but has anyone done the math on using PWCC as an alternative shipping address purely for sales tax purposes? I live in CA so my sales tax is close to 10%. From what I can tell, there’s an initial intake charge of 1%, and then the .5% of value for storing it there. Are there any penalty fees for withdrawing cards? Would it make any sense to ship all my bigger slab purchases there to effectively reduce my purchase price by 5+%? (assuming I pay intake, part of a year of storage, and some kind of extra shipping every quarter or so)

I just won an auction and I need to pay today. I asked PWCC but they haven't responded.
Does it cost anything to send the card to their "vault"? Once it's in the vault, can I ever take possession of it?
